DVD Identity

With an ace up its sleeve, Identity does for schizophrenia what The Silence of the Lambs did for fava beans and a nice chianti. On the proverbial dark and stormy night, this anxiety-laced thriller offers a tasty blend of And Then There Were None and Psycho, with a dash of Sybil for extra spice and psychosis. Things go from bad to worse when 10 unrelated travelers converge at an isolated motel and proceed to die, one by one, with no apparent connection... until they discover the common detail that's drawn them into this nightmare of relentless trauma. Even as it flunks Abnormal Psychology 101, Michael Cooney's screenplay offers meaty material for a superior ensemble cast including John Cusack and Rebecca DeMornay (who wins the Janet Leigh prize in a... A Lot Like Love (Widescreen Edition)

The words "subtle" and "Ashton Kutcher" rarely appear in the same sentence, but here goes: A Lot Like Love, a romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, is surprisingly and pleasantly subtle. The story starts when Emily (Peet, Igby Goes Down) and Oliver (Kutcher, Dude, Where's My Car?) meet on a flight to New York and have a tryst in the airplane bathroom. After a day's dalliance, they part and don't meet again for four years--when they meet, spend a day together, part, and don't meet again until...you begin to get the idea. The script could have been dangerously cute, but director Nigel Cole (who helmed the delightful Calendar Girls) carefully steers Peet and Kutcher, two actors not generally noted for their grasp of character nuance, towards... The Whole Ten Yards (Full Screen Edition)

My husband and I have seen The Whole Nine Yards at least three dozen times, it is absolutely hysterical! So when the sequel came out we rushed to see it and were not disappointed! I LOVED this movie! I laughed so hard I was in pain! However, the movie won't mean a thing to you if you haven't seen and loved the first. It is a dark comedy with twists and turns that keep you guessing. (What is up with the people that say it was confusing! Yes, you actually have to pay attention and maybe even see it twice!) Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry make an incredible team. My only complaint is the crude language & sex jokes were over the top. (So NO kids around for this flic.) So if you loved the first this is a MUST SEE! More Info About This DVD

The Whole Ten Yards (Widescreen Edition)

Bruce Willis turns on the charm in The Whole Ten Yards, the sequel to the surprisingly popular The Whole Nine Yards. Willis returns as Jimmy "the Tulip," a former professional hitman, now living in Mexico with his bride Jill (Amanda Peet, Igby Goes Down), while his former neighbor Oz (Matthew Perry) lives happily with Jimmy's ex-wife Cynthia (Natasha Henstridge, Species). When mobster Lazlo Gogolak (Kevin Pollak, The Usual Suspects) kidnaps Cynthia to get revenge on Jimmy, Oz has to seek out Jimmy for help--only to eventually discover that there's some incomprehensible secret plan at work. The Whole Ten Yards was created purely because the previous movie made money; the sequel makes not an iota of sense. Willis coasts by on raw charisma, everyone... More Info About This DVD
