The original "Walking Tall", despite its low budget, was highly entertaining and commercially successful. The cast was very strong (particularly Baker and Hartman), the script was sound, and the direction was good. However, this sequel was shot by a different studio, with acting, direction, and script which were glaringly inferior to the original. Joe Don Baker wisely declined to reprise his role as Buford, so the part went to Bo Svenson, who doesn't possess the acting skill required for a deodorant commercial, and proves it by delivering a typically rotten performance. He is so bad in his role as the sheriff that one almost cheers for the villains, in the hope that someone will get this clown off the screen, and rescue viewers from further boredom.
