Every now and then, the CGI effects in Garfield: The Movie are less than perfect--which makes you realize how astonishingly seamless the rest of the effects are. When Garfield's owner, Jon (Breckin Meyer, Clueless), agrees to take in a homeless dog so as to flirt with a sexy veterinarian (Jennifer Love Hewitt, I Know What You Did Last Summer), Garfield does his best to oust the dog from the house. But when a greedy television performer (Stephen Tobolowsky, Bossa Nova) kidnaps the mutt for his own nefarious purposes, Garfield sets out on a rescue mission. Garfield is a terrible movie, yet there's something weirdly compelling in its awfulness. Bill Murray (Rushmore, Ghostbusters), who voices the fat cat, has mastered a comic style that... Learn More

I loved this movie! It was so refreshing to see a romantic comedy with people in a marriage rather than the distraught single women we see all the time in other movies like Bridget Jones. It was funny and smart and I really liked all the twists and turns. You totally went with Jennifer Love Hewitt trying to save her marriage even though she should have ditched her cheating husband long ago for the gorgeous Archie (played by Dougray Scott). I also really liked her sister who injected a lot of fun into the movie. Also despite some of the other reviews on here her British accent is actually excellent.
True, it's not ground breaking but if you want to watch a chick-flick with a bit more bite than usual then this movie is for you.

I Know What You Did Last Summer As they celebrate their high school graduation, four friends are involved in a hit-and-run accident when their car hits--and apparently kills--a pedestrian on an isolated roadway. They dispose of the body and vow to keep the incident a secret, but a year later somebody starts sending them letters bearing the warning "I Know What You Did Last Summer." At that point the panicked foursome becomes the target of an elusive serial killer whose disguise consists of a fisherman's slicker and a lethal ice hook. Part mystery and part slasher flick, this thriller was heavily hyped as a follow-up to Scream by screenwriter Kevin Williamson (who later created the TV series Dawson's Creek), and like Scream it's a showcase for a... The Time Machine (2002) While the 1960 version of The Time Machine remains a science fiction classic, this adaptation of the H.G. Wells novel benefits from a dazzling CGI facelift. Digital wizardry shows us the awesome splendor of eons passing in an eye blink, while Wells's heroic time traveler--played with appealing conviction by Memento's Guy Pearce--is given a stronger motivation for piloting his time machine 800,000 years into the future. Long after New York City has crumbled and the moon shattered by a nuclear accident, Pearce finds a new home with the peacefully primitive Eloi, after confronting the subterranean Morlocks (courtesy of Stan Winson's monster shop) and their evil overlord (Jeremy Irons in wicked, pigmentless makeup). Trading Wells's social... I really enjoyed this movie for a few reasons. I thought they did a great job with the cast..even though I am not a JLH fan. I enjoyed the other characters and even the story line. It's not a classic, but the story has a moral to it. It's slow at times, but the good parts (like the discussion about the panda and the ostrich) are funny. It's a basic high-school-mentality movie that doesn't rank with others like it, but my husband and I love this cute movie. I would recommend it.
