People desperately wanted to see Olivia and John reunite after the success of Grease. The dismal Grease 2 sequel came out with no sign of them, so someone had the idea of re-teaming them for something completely different. TWO OF A KIND is a silly plot about two people who are destined to meet thanks to the good lord above, and through some silly scenarios we are supposed to believe they will. The acting is absolutely shocking (not just from Olivia). Perhaps the only saving grace is the average single "Twist of Fate". This is not a cult classic, make no mistake. It is easily one of those "hall of shame" films. I cannot believe that there are reviewers out there who like this joke of a film. This earnest effort at media criticism is never convincing enough to stir a viewer's outrage in the way filmmaker Costa-Gavras (Music Box) might have intended. John Travolta plays a barely educated museum guard who is laid off from his job and ends up holding his former boss (Blythe Danner) and a bunch of schoolchildren hostage. Dustin Hoffman is a former television-network journalist making a grab at the limelight again by pushing and controlling press coverage of the story. What follows is by the numbers and not nearly as enlightening or enthralling as other films (such as Dog Day Afternoon or Billy Wilder's Ace in the Hole) about simple events manipulated into a media circus. Despite Travolta's tragic performance and Hoffman's impassioned one, the film breaks up over... Swordfish is a superficial movie, so let's address the superficial facts: Halle Berry was well paid to bare her breasts in this gratuitous cyber-action thriller, and while Berry's many fans will enjoy a cheap drool at the actress's expense, her brief topless scene doesn't justify this insipid parade of glossy violence from the director of 2000's Gone in 60 Seconds. Add yet another notch in John Travolta's bad-movie belt, and you've got Hollywood bankruptcy in full blossom. Go ahead, marvel at director Dominic Sena's biggest money shot--a 360-degree pan as a robbery hostage is blown to bits by a bomb that pelts a surrounding SWAT squad with deadly ball bearings.
The plot, as if it matters: Travolta's a slick, self-appointed antiterrorist who recruits a top-flight... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): John Travolta - Hugh Jackman Director(s): Dominic Sena DVD Release Date: Released the 01 June 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours

Screw Siskel & Ebert and their thumbs(down). This movie is PERFECT because it has my two of my favorite people, star John Travolta and supporter Laraine Newman. Newman,Jamie Lee Curtis and Marilu Henner are three beautiful women who show their PERFECT bodies in this film. However, many say that this film is the worst of Travolta's career. Carly Simon didn't have to throw her bloody Mary in Travolta's face. This film is a must for Rolling Stone subscribers, health club members and of course,John Travolta fans. Put on your boogie shoes for this five-film nostalgic trip back to the 1970s and '80s. In Saturday Night Fever (1977), a 19-year-old Italian American from Brooklyn, Tony Manero (John Travolta), works in a humble paint store and lives with his family. After dark, he becomes the polyester-clad stallion of the local nightclub. The soundtrack, which spawned a massively successful album, is dominated by disco classics from the Bee Gees, including "Staying Alive" and "Night Fever." The Oscar®-nominated Travolta, plucked from the cast of the TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, for his first starring role, is incandescent and unbelievably confident, and his dancing is terrific. Oh, and the white suit rules.
Travolta went on to Grease, a 1978 adaptation of the... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): John Travolta DVD Release Date: Released the 13 December 2003 Usually ships within 24 hours
