Inviting comparison to Kathryn Bigelow's 1987 cult hit Near Dark, and derivative of The Hitcher and a half-dozen other films, The Forsaken is nevertheless a gritty little B movie that succeeds on its own modest terms. Medical students Steve Hillman (Dawson's Creek Hottie - Kerr Smith)(During his hiatus from Dawson's Creek, Smith worked on this independent feature) and Patrick (Lochlyn Munro) encounter a sleepy stop over during a road trip. This rural town has only a dingy bar to offer diversion and the friends stop in for a pee break. The lord seems to smile upon them as the bar is crowded with cheerleaders and the attractive boys look like a meal to these girls.
