One movie lover's nightmare is another's raucous joyride, and this special effects-laden horror comedy is bound to split both camps right down the middle. (Or, as Leonard Maltin's Movie & Video Guide puts it, "definitely not for all tastes but a wild time for those who get into it.") Michael J. Fox plays a psychic investigator who can actually see ghosts, and lives with a trio of undead spirits who scare people to promote Fox's ghost-busting business. In a town infamous for serial killings, a new series of deaths prompts Fox to induce his own out-of-body experience so he can battle death in a spirit-plagued netherworld where evil reigns supreme--or something like that. So much happens in this chaotic film that you might feel like you're watching several movies at once--a slasher... Learn More

Yes, I think Spin City was the best funny sitcom ever. It's one of the very few clever humor series I've seen in half a century of TV watching. I love Seinfeld, Goodness Gracious Me was hilarious and very smart too, but Spin City never failed to make me laugh my head out and still feel intelligent !
But... the production who decided to issue but a few chosen episodes on a couple of DVD must have been the dummiest bunch of executives to work for a TV channel. They probably got fired since such a stupid decision certainly ended up in a financial failure (who wants a best of of the best ?) but the guys still in place probably decided not to issue the complete seasons because these didn't sell !
So here I am, frustrated as, I guess, thousands of Spin City fans who will hope and... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): Michael J. With only a few exceptions (the Back to the Future series and a couple of others), Michael J. Fox has been unable to translate his TV success into movie stardom. It may just be a poor choice of material, such as with this limp Barry Sonnenfeld comedy about a New York hotel concierge trying to save up for his own hotel. What's he saving? The massive tips he gets from hotel guests for whom he does all manner of favors. But his conscience is tested when he falls for the mistress of one of his wealthiest clients and finds he must choose between his integrity and his dream. Fox is appealing, and so is Gabrielle Anwar, as the woman who changes him. But neither can rescue this slow-witted gloss on The Apartment. And what is Sonnenfeld, the stylish director of Men in Black... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): Michael J. Michael J. Fox plays the most sympathetic cocaine addict you've ever seen in the movie of Jay McInerney's popular novel Bright Lights, Big City, the book that famously chronicled the coke- and cash-fueled era of the 1980s. Jamie Conway (Fox) works as a fact-checker for a major New York magazine, but because he spends his nights partying with his glib best friend (Kiefer Sutherland), he's on the verge of getting fired. His wife, a fast-rising model (Phoebe Cates), just left him; he's still reeling from the death of his mother (Dianne Wiest) a year earlier; and he's obsessed with a tabloid story about a pregnant woman in a coma. Bright Lights, Big City doesn't have much of a plot, but in its meandering way it captures some of the glossy chaos of the time and of a ... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): Michael J. Stuart Little This live-action version of E.B. White's novel doesn't have quite the magic of, say, Toy Story. Instead of entertainment the whole family can be enthralled with, Stuart Little is squarely aimed, and successfully so, at the 4- to 10-year-old watcher. Does this make it a bad family film? Not in the slightest. The gee-whiz visual effects (created by original Star Wars wizard John Dykstra) and the film's ebullient wholesomeness make this a welcome addition to the home library. In E.B. White's world, it's hardly surprising that human parents would adopt "outside their species." The smooth-talking mouse Stuart (voiced by Michael J. Fox) seems the perfect new child for parents Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie, especially with an adorable wardrobe... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): Michael J.
