Alfred Hitchcock was fond of telling the story about how his father discouraged his son from even the slightest criminal impulse by having young Alfred locked in a police holding cell for a brief period--a terrifying experience Hitchcock never forgot. Much of the fear from that childhood incident resonates through The Wrong Man, which is unique among Hitchcock's films in that it is based entirely on a factual case that occurred in New York City in January 1953. As Hitchcock states in a shadowy prologue, authenticity was his primary goal--including the use of actual names and locations from the case--and the film gains considerable power from Hitchcock's semi-documentary approach (a film noir style that was still in vogue when Hitchcock shot this film in 1957).
This is another great Family movie made by Disney. It is hard to find good, safe, clean and fun and entertaining movies made anymore. One has to look back to the good Old Disney Classics to find these type of movies.
This movie has a boat load of morals taught thru out the film. It is a comedy, an action, a romance and family flick packaged together.
Lemuel Siddons is a musician (but studying to be a lawyer) with a travelling band around the early 1930s. The bus makes a brief stop in a small town called Hickory, a charming middle-America kind of place, and Lem makes a fateful decision to stay. He ends up volunteering to be the Boy Scout leader, impressing the sweet and beautiful Vida in the process. As a selfless Scout leader he touches the lives of the boys in the town down through the years and influences them for the better, particularly young Kurt Russell.
One of my favorite movies of all time, one I like to put on every once in a while when I need a great inspiring kind of movie. Fred MacMurray plays the role so wonderfully, and I'm reminded of kind Scoutmasters I had when growing up. But it's not just a great... Volume 21 of The Twilight Zone DVD collection is a real keeper, beginning with "Mirror Image," a classic first-season episode starring Vera Miles as a woman whose sense of reality is shattered when she encounters her exact double in a bus station. Her fear of being "replaced" reaches a fever pitch, despite the efforts of a fellow passenger (Martin Milner) to calm her frenzied nerves. As the woman is taken away for psychiatric examination, her terror turns out to be entirely justified--emphasizing paranoia as one of Rod Serling's favored themes. The second-season entry "Dust" is pale by comparison--a lethargic tale of magic in the Old West that redeems a man about to be hanged for drunkenly running over a little girl with his wagon. He's saved from the noose by a bit of "magic... More Info About This DVD Actor(s): Twilight Zone - Vera Miles - Ed Wynn DVD Release Date: Released the 14 March 2000 Usually ships within 4 to 5 days

30. PSYCHO 2 (horror, 1983) Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) has finally been released after spending 22 years in a mental asylum for the (supposed) murder of his mother. Once back at the Bates Motel he takes in a young female lodger whom he's met whilst working at a local diner. With her help, and that of his psychiatrist (Robert Loggia), he's keen to redeem himself of his crimes. But once back at the old house he starts to hear his mother's chants once again.
Critique: This follow-up to Hitchcock's classic was quickly dismissed by critics (how can anyone improve on the original?). I believe this second installment (there would be a total of 4 sequels) has a superior screenplay (by future director Todd Holland), and cinematography that stands well to the first one. In fact, this is one...
