Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

Oh, how these shows bring me back to my childhood years. I'm 32 now and I still love watching them. I only hope that my kids will enjoy them as much as I did. I wish they were all filmed in their original location (Covington, GA). I also hope that they release the reunion movies on DVD soon. I believe my hometown was mentioned a couple of times in the shows also. I'll always be a loyal Dukes of Hazzard fan!!!! CHARLIE'S ANGELS gets a wonderful DVD release with perfect picture and two choice episodes.
Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson star in two stories from the memorable first season; "Night Of The Strangler" and "To Kill An Angel". The only main qualm is the lack of chapters in the episodes.
Also included is the entertaining "Angels Forever" retrospective featurette which quizzes fans of the show as well as providing footage from the show and details from later cast members including Cheryl Ladd and Tanya Roberts.
I personally feel that William Marshall did an outstanding performance as Blacula, although I feel this was a step down for him as an actor at the time. He had far better to offer us from the stage and screen. But given the era, I suppose one couldn't be too picky for roles. I thought both films Blacula and Scream Blacula were quite chilling. The sequel however, had I think too much humor whether intentional or not to take the story line seriously throughout. There was one scene that was chilling for me and the background music with the lightning and thunder added to the eerieness. Pam's character sat with her friend who died and she rose from the casket as one of the undead only moments before looking peaceful. She beckons to Pam's character(quite eerie) and Blacula appears with booming... It may sound like a gimmick--The Greatest '70s Cop Shows is a compilation of first episodes from Starsky and Hutch, Police Woman, S.W.A.T., The Rookies, and Charlie's Angels--but this DVD anthology really opens one's eyes to the look and feel of dramatic television during the so-called Me Decade. Except for Angels, which never wavered from its self-mocking, glossy action/stiff exposition playbook, these cop-program debuts (four of them from Aaron Spelling) import much of their fluid camera movement, multiple points-of-view, and dynamic, often wordless storytelling from the era's rough-and-tumble action movies (e.g., The French Connection). Which is to say these shows may be dumb but not necessarily cheesy (except Angels'... The Dracula legend gets a suavely competent makeover in this 1970 bloodsucker, bringing vampirism to present-day Los Angeles with a harem of semi-clad females and the sharp casting of Robert Quarry in the title role. The film's original title (The Loves of Count Iorga, Vampire) is perhaps more fitting, since it's really about how Quarry--posing as a Bulgarian psychic medium--seduces his female clients into neck-bitten submission. The victims' abandoned boyfriends (including Michael Murphy, who costarred in M*A*S*H the same year) recruit a vampire-hunting doctor (Roger Perry) to track Yorga down (with wooden stakes made from a broomstick, no less), and the body count rises predictably. Dry performances and tepid dialogue don't help much, but the then-modern setting and...
