DVD Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

The Flintstones - The Complete First Season

Meet The Flintstones in this prehistoric Hanna-Barbera production. Primetime's first animated series was also the longest running until The Simpsons came along. Not so coincidentally, the two shows aren't all that different--even if the former emerged in the sixties, the latter in the eighties. Fred (Alan Reed), patriarch of the cave-dwelling clan, may be marginally more intelligent than the similarly blue collar Homer, but most storylines still revolve around his more dunderheaded moves. Fortunately, wife Wilma (Jean Vander Pyl) and Barney (Mel Blanc) and Betty Rubble (Bea Benaderet), their neighbors, are usually able to set things right. That was also true for Ralph Cramden of The Honeymooners, a direct influence (Reed even sounds like Jackie Gleason).... More Info About This DVD

Charlotte's Web/Charlotte's Web 2

Charlotte's Web
This animated feature based on the popular E.B. White book for children--about the special relationships between Wilbur the pig, Charlotte the spider, and Templeton the rat--is a straight adaptation from the page, with songs added. Endearing, heartbreaking, and ultimately wise, it may not please all of those with a strong attachment to the book, but it works all the same. --Tom Keogh

Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure
Spinning a yarn that begins where the 30-year-old original concluded, Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure returns to Zuckerman's farm for more endearing pig tales. Faint-hearted Wilbur preserves his dear friend Charlotte's memory by befriending the lone black sheep of the farm.... More Info About This DVD

Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School

Inspired by Hanna-Barbera's popular cartoon series, which premiered in 1969, Scooby-Doo stars in his second full-length film (made in 1988). Shaggy has accepted a job as a gym teacher at Miss Grimwood's Finishing School for Ghouls, a gothic girls' school that instructs the daughters of frightfully famous monsters such as Dracula, Werewolf, Mummy, and Frankenstein. Once Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy get over their spooky welcome, they settle into academic and athletic routines (like scarobic exercises) and enjoy an other-worldly relationship with the delightful Miss Grimwood and her gals. Shaggy prepares his students for a big volleyball tournament against the boys' military academy next door, a setup for all sorts of ghoulish gimmicks. And, of course, there's Back to School Night, where the... More Info About This DVD
