Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

This clever, funny big-screen adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's best-seller takes some of the snarky bite out of the chick lit book, but smoothes out the characters' boxy edges to make a more satisfying movie. There's no doubt The Devil Wears Prada belongs to Meryl Streep, who turns in an Oscar-worthy (seriously!) strut as the monster editor-in-chief of Runway, an elite fashion magazine full of size-0, impossibly well-dressed plebes. This makes new second-assistant Andrea (Anne Hathaway), who's smart but an unacceptable size 6, stick out like a sore thumb. Streep has a ball sending her new slave on any whimsical errand, whether it's finding the... Starring Adrien Grenier, Kevin Connally, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven, the series follows the lives of celebrity actor Vince Chase and his posse of friends from the old neighborhood as they maneuver and strut through the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Beautiful models, bright clubs, and celebrity cameos (Jessica Alba! Gary Busey! Jimmy Kimmel!) fill every episode. The boys are styling and living large, the women are drop dead beautiful and available, and the night life and premieres fill their days and nights. This show packs a visual orgy of celebrity glitz and the good life. The writing is clever and the wit varies between sarcastic and sophmoric, but overall the show entertains everyone, because deep down we all want a little taste of the Hollywood life.

The Pennsylvania Miners' Story gives a realistic and heartfelt depiction of the true story of nine men trapped in coal mine. After breaking into a water-filled abandoned mine, the nine miners struggle to stay alive while rescue crews fight against time to drill down. There are no surprises to the story, but the harrowing circumstances of both the trapped men and their wives and children up above is made acutely, powerfully clear. What could be mawkish--for example, one shivering miner realizes he didn't kiss his wife goodbye that morning--is given compelling emotional weight by the movie's straightforward realism and solid performances by a largely unknown cast (the most famous face is probably John Ratzenberger, from the TV show Cheers). Only the hardest heart... More Info About This DVD Director(s): David Frankel DVD Release Date: Released the 24 June 2003 Usually ships within 2 to 3 days

Here is a film that is so negative about the possibilty of finding true love, it should be banned from sale or rental to all engaged couples. In fact, anyone who has a positive outlook on relationships and doesn't wish to wallow in the mire of adultery, divorce and human failure, should skip it altogether. I think that covers everyone who is not one of the characters in this film, or similarly inclined. ............... Sarah Jessica Parker who is the only saving grace here, is Gwen, an engaged lady who is surrounded at every turn by dysfunctional relationships. This film is not even close to reality at any point. No one knows this many unhappy people buried in illicit tawdry affairs, even if they live in Hollywood! In fact, this film tries so hard to be NOW and HIP and COOL, like this is...
