Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

I have four boys between the ages of 11 and 2. I ordered seasons 1 & 2 and they love it. Every night we turn Daniel Boone on before bedtime and we don't have to worry about our children seeing anything other than a good wholesome show. I hope they put out the next 4 seasons! WHEN I WAS A CHILD MY DADDY USED TO WATCH DANIEL BOONE. WE HAD TO GO TO BED EARLY BECAUSE IT WAS SHOWN ON A SCHOOL NIGHT, BUT WE WOULD LISTEN TO THE THEME SONG. WHEN IT SWITCHED TO FRIDAY NIGHT WE GOT TO STAY UP AND WATCH WITH MY DAD, AND IT IS STILL A TIME I REMEMBER WATCHING SOMETHING WITH MY DAD. NOW I GET TO SEE THE EPISODES I MISSED, AND I'M VERY THANKFUL FOR THAT.WE MISSED WATCHING THIS PROGRAM WITH OUR CHILDREN BECAUSE IT WAS NOT SHOWN ON TV, AND VCRS WERE NOT CREATED YET. EVEN IF THEY WERE, IT WAS STILL NOT SHOWN ON TV. NOW, NOT ONLY CAN I WATCH THEM, BUT MY GROWN UP CHILDREN CAN TOO. LIBERATION DID A GREAT JOB IN RESTORING THESE SHOWS, AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE REST TO COME OUT. I HAVE SEASON TWO, AND WAITING FOR THE REST TO COME AVAILABLE. THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS SHOW BACK TO... The second season of Leave It to Beaver finds the Cleaver family happy and wholesome as ever, with most episodes involving the Beaver getting into a scrape, or hearing the from-the-mountaintop advice from Mom or Dad afterwards. Despite the formula, the episodes hold up well, because of the earnestness of the actors and the delivery of their lines, which is, well, swell. Mom June (Barbara Billingsley) is the matriarch who makes it all look easy in her well-pressed frocks and pearls (pay close attention to those necklaces--there are actually several; some plain strands and some with pendants), and Dad Ward (Hugh Beaumont) is thoughtful and a little monolithic. But it's the adventures of boys, older brother Wally (Tony Dow) and the Beav (Jerry Mathers), that make the show so fun. One... I grew up watching this series on tv and fell in love with it - completely!! It became an obsession. I love it so much, I feel like I know all the characters. I only had the Complete series on vcd so I decided I would get the dvd, probably better quality too. Me and my cousin used to pretend we were different people in the series, I used to be Diana. I was always so fascinated by her, and I loved the glitter in her hair, the episode where they have the big wedding and Charles gets killed. And I love their clothes too. So I'm looking forward to watching it again, I only had it on vcd before, but dvd's are of better quality and this is really a must own for me. If you haven't seen the series before - wow, you are going to get a big treat! Very 80's, lot's of action, some cheesy lines,... I have to say from the onset that the quality of this set was extremely good. But, I also have to say that I was expecting more. SHAME ON YOU, AMC!! I was expecting (hoping) to see the original (1949) opening credits and theme song. But, what I got was a cleaned up version of the distribution opening like the ones that TV Land used. I would have gladly given up quality for the original opening and closing. If you are a true, and by that I mean older, fan of The Lone Ranger and are looking for the pure, genuine TV show, this is not for you. More Info About This DVD Director(s): George B.
