Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Movie about other movies is commmon (Trauffats "la nuit ammericaine" one of the best, other in the absence of ideas directors do remakes), but over directors, politics and social life is rare.
