DVD Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

M*A*S*H - Season Eleven (Collector's Edition)

Here's an essential addition to the TV time capsule, M*A*S*H's complete final season, including the DVD premiere of the historic feature-length final episode, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen." Still the most watched television series episode ever, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" brings M*A*S*H to a richly satisfying conclusion, giving each of its characters dramatic and fitting curtain calls. But the finale shouldn't completely overshadow what was a memorable and multi-Emmy-nominated season. After a decade, Kellye Nakahara, as compassionate and "cute as hell" Nurse Kellye, gets her own showcase episode with "Hey, Look Me Over." Echoing his obsession with "Adam's Ribs" back in season 3, "The Moon Is Not Blue," finds Hawkeye (Alan Alda) determined to secure for the morale-challenged... More Info About This DVD

M*A*S*H - Season Ten (Collector's Edition)

Unlike old soldiers, M*A*S*H showed little signs of fading away in its penultimate season. Alan Alda and Loretta Switt were officially saluted with Emmys for their exemplary work this season, and Henry Morgan and David Ogden Stiers received well-deserved nominations. But the overlooked Jamie Farr enjoyed some of his finest half-hours, including "Follies of the Living--Concerns of the Dead" (written and directed by Alda), an episode out of the Twilight Zone in which a fever-wracked Klinger communicates with the spirit of a soldier who has just died and roams the 4077th. Stiers further distinguishes himself in "Sons and Bowlers," in which Winchester lends compassionate support to Hawkeye, who anxiously awaits word of his father's operation, and in a moving scene, opens up... M*A*S*H - Season Nine (Collector's Edition)

In M*A*S*H's ninth season, tears flow almost as freely as the blood and laughter, affording the decorated ensemble (Alan Alda, Harry Morgan. Loretta Swit, and David Ogden Stiers were all nominated for Emmys) ample dramatic license. Margaret (Swit) cries while reflecting on a patient to whom she became emotionally attached in "Letters." B.J. (Mike Farrell) tears up when Hawkeye (Alda) and company surprise him with a wedding-anniversary home movie of his wife in "Oh, How We Danced." And Winchester (Stiers) reveals that he's "human like the rest of us" in three of his finest half-hours (each was nominated for an Emmy). In "The Life You Save," he becomes obsessed with death after discovering a sniper's bullet grazed his head. In the moving Christmas episode, "Death Takes a Holiday," he... More Info About This DVD

The Brady Bunch - The Complete Fourth Season

The Bradys just keep on movin', keep on groovin', keep on doin' it right. By season four the Brady Bunch crew had got the magical formula down and was churning out one groovy television classic after another. Not only is season four the best of the later seasons, including the memorable performance by the Brady band "The Silver Platters," but the episodes included in this run almost read as a "Brady best-of" list. If there is a hall of fame for three part television episodes, this season's opener would easily be among the top five. The "Bradys Abroad" formula seemed to be so successful after season four's two-part opening trip to the Grand Canyon, the gang was able to pack it up and head to Hawaii. The Hawaii trip has it all; a family trip to the USS Arizona, Greg's Surf contest,... More Info About This DVD

The Brady Bunch - The Complete Second Season

The Brady Bunch never scored high ratings during its five year run, but this friendly family comedy has remained in reruns ever since, while bigger hits have slipped into oblivion. Pretty much everyone who grew up in the 1970s or '80s knows the show inside and out: A vision of suburban family life so utopian it's as fantastical as Neverland or Santa's workshop--and just like these imaginary realms, it casts a spell over every kid who wished all problems could be resolved with a few wise words, a good-natured shrug, or a winsome smile. The Brady Bunch: The Complete Second Season is indistinguishable from every other season, but the reassuring formula is crucial to the show's appeal. Eldest brother Greg (Barry Williams) may decide he's all grown up and wants a groovy bachelor... More Info About This DVD

Tabitha - The Entire Series

It seems that this short-lived 1977 spinoff was not so much trying to recapture the magic of Bewitched as it was The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Like Mary, Lisa Hartman's Tabitha was an independent single woman working for a low-rent local television station. Where Mary had a letter "M" hanging on her wall, Tabitha had a "T." Tabitha, however, tried to turn our world on, not with a smile, but with a twitch of her nose. And without the benefit of brilliant writers or an able ensemble, Hartman was just not up to taking a nothing premise and suddenly making it all seem worthwhile. Tabitha, now a witchy woman, works as an assistant at KXLA with her mortified mortal brother, Adam, to whom she promises to "cut down on the nose action" (in the more-interesting unaired pilot included on...
