Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. I just finished watching COTC 7 and I must say...well, I'm torn. It's a good b-grade horror movie, but it just isn't very, well, Children of the Corn-y. I've seen every one of them and this one doesn't *feel* like any of the other ones. I liked 6 much better and I had really hoped that this would do something like that. There are a lot of things that were never elaborated on in the series (the two babies in 5 and 6 being a couple) that could have been. I don't get why they chose to invent a new leader and stuff. There is already so much mythology that I don't think they needed it. Definitely see it if you're a fan of the series. If not, well then it'll probably be just a stupid, low-grade horror movie to you. I watched this film with an open mind having seen LeBlanc in Friends & Lost in Space. I was very pleasantly suprised to see what a talented actor he actually is. He showed a full range of acting skills & made the character of Anthony appealing, he could have failed & just made him obnoxius. The plot is good, characters strong & the film enjoyable. Glad I bought it. More Info About This DVD Director(s): Guy Magar DVD Release Date: Released the 29 May 2001 THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.
