Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

No collection of classic TV Westerns is complete without Cheyenne, the trailblazing 1955 series that premiered within weeks of Gunsmoke. The strapping Clint Walker stars as Cheyenne Bodie, the iconic role that earned him his place in the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Cheyenne is a classic Western hero in the drifter tradition, accepting jobs ranging from frontier scout to trail boss. In this first season, he is accompanied at times by sidekick Smitty (L.Q. Jones). "It takes about a minute to know a man," one character remarks during the course of Cheyenne's first season. But we size up Cheyenne in an instant. He is a man of honor, straight shooting and plainspoken. In one episode, he declines an... More Info About This DVD Director(s): Herbert L. All I can say is: It's about time Clint Walker's Cheyenne has come to DVD- too long a wait. All 3 episodes were very good picks. Top quality reproduction. I can tell they are all complete. A lot of people have forgotten in the series closing seasons, Cheyenne became "The Cheyenne Show" which first rotated Cheyenne one week and Bronco the next instead of them having their own weekly shows. Even Sugarfoot was added I believe in the final year. This DVD is great and I strongly suggest that complete seasons of this series be released onto DVD A.S.A.P. I rate this disc as a great sampler. Clint Walker has been well remembered by me as one of the top western heroes of the late "50's-'60's era, and the series western stories are timeless. Bring them on. I am a huge fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000, but I was disappointed with "The Crawling Hand". At first I thought it was really cute because this episode was taken from the first season, so it was interesting to see the really corny sets and even cornier special effects. However, as I watched the episode more, the more bored I became. Granted, "The Crawling Hand" is not the most exciting movie to watch, but it just didn't seem as though Joel and the bots were as funny. Tom Servo had a completely different voice and Dr. Forrester had a different assistant.
I know that this episode is a part of MST3K history and for that I give it respect, but I personally just could not get into this episode. I would suggest it, though, to other fans of the series so they can make their own decisions... More Info About This DVD Director(s): Herbert L. I had never heard of this program before I found the DVD an Amazon, and decided to order it. When I finally viewed the programs, I was quite surprised at a number of things.
1. The prints are very high quality, especially considering that this was a 1950's made for TV series.
2. The series was never broadcast. This is amazing considering that the episodes could have easily been in One Step Beyond or Twilight Zone if you blinked and missed the opening credits. More to the point, The Veil predates both of its more well remembered cousins.
3. They made 10 episodes as opposed to a pilot and one or two other shoots. As such, there is enough material here to really give the viewer a feel for what this series would have been had it been picked up by one of the networks at the time.
While I agree with many other reviewers -- this is not the funniest of the many MST3K episodes -- I must say it still has much merit.
An astronaut goes completely off his rocker and blows up his ship. Soon after, a dorky med-school student named Paul finds the astronaut's severed hand on a beach while taking a romp with a foreign chick. He takes the hand home(Tom: "Thank goodness he brought a handbag!"), puts it on a pantry shelf (isn't that an odd place to keep body parts?), and the next thing he knows it's on the loose and in the mood to kill. The sheriff (the skipper from Gilligan's Island), shows up on the scene, and his arrival marks the beginning of an endless stream of Gilligan jokes.
When watching this episode, one must take into consideration that this was a very early... More Info About This DVD Director(s): Herbert L. Strock DVD Release Date: Released the 14 August 2001 Usually ships within 24 hours

PLEASE NOTE: This is in regards to the DVD, which contains 4 TV episodes as opposed to 2 for the VHS version.
It's easy to see why this never became a successful show, even with Boris Karloff attached to it.
"Destination Nightmare" is actually a collection of four TV episodes of about 25 minutes apiece. The writers apparently had very little creativity when compared to such classics as "Twilight Zone" or "Amazing Stories".
The first episode is about a teenage girl who goes to visit her mother's childhood home. When she gets there, she is overcome with the spirit of a girl who had died ten years earlier. This is the best out of the four, but that really isn't saying much.
