Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

"It's logic. It's rationality. It's using your mind to solve the biggest mysteries we know."
If you're interested in this box-set, you've probably already seen the show, so I'll just summarize briefly. In "Numb3rs," the character Charlie Eppes (played David Krumholtz) helps his FBI agent brother Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) to solve cases. He's a professor at a university and a mathematical genius. He's also assisted by his good friend and colleague, Larry Fleinhardt.
In this second season, some fun new things come into the mix. The characters of Megan and Colby join the mix. They make wonderful additions to the show. The opening intro has been changed to be more exciting and interesting, which hints at changes in the show. The cast is really getting into its... Equal parts drama, slapstick comedy, and soap opera, this third season of Las Vegas is all fun. Welcome to the Montecito, a casino and hotel that's so desirable that the only thing more attractive than its clientele is its smoking-hot staff. Each episode contains some kind of crime--a victim whose kidney was stolen, a woman pretending to be a deceased man's fiancée, an employee who chops off his own finger and serves it up in a shrimp cocktail. That kind of thing. It's up to Ed (James Caan) and his surveillance experts Danny (Josh Duhamel) and Mike (James Lesure) to make sure everyone plays nice. Also included in every episode is a bit of Love Boat-style shenanigans. Everyone has slept with each other but is too cool to admit to the object of their affection how they... "Everything is numbers," states Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) in the pilot of Numb3rs, a satisfying (and educational!) new crime drama. Executive-produced by brothers/film directors Ridley Scott (Gladiator) and Tony Scott (Top Gun), it's like CSI with algorithms and probabilities instead of blood spatter and DNA swabs, which separates it from the slew of gruesome forensics-centered cop shows currently on the air. In this case, it's a brains-vs.-brawn matchup: a brilliant math professor (Krumholtz) consulting on crimes for an FBI agent (Rob Morrow) who happens to be his older brother. While Don, Morrow's character, busts the baddies with his team of agents, Charlie's scribbling formulas on chalkboards and statistically deducting a rapist's next target... This is such a good show. I keep saying it (as do most other people), but it's true. I don't know how this keeps surpassing each past season, but this is one of the best yet. They find a way to keep the story lines fresh and exciting and I cannot for the life of me understand why they were so obviously snubbed at this years Emmy's. My favourite episode on this is the Mexican singers who cut off a girls head and put it in a newspaper stand, and of course, the amazing season finale with Nick's character buried alive. He did a great job in that and Quentin Tarantino showed his amazing talents yet again in a phenominal episode. How they are going to top that now is anyone's guess (although that episode was the cause for Warricks character to get married in the beginning of season 6. It... Invincible opens with a glorious display of high comic book melodrama, as a malevolent superbeing named Os (Billy Zane, chewing the scenery with his dependable gusto) battles it out with a force of light called the White Warrior. When she opens his heart to love, Os finds himself commissioned to assemble a team of mortal human beings destined from before birth to become hyperhuman protectors of life--and only they can save the earth from the Shadowmen and their truly bad leader, Slate. It's all ridiculous, but for a while Invincible is completely entertaining, directed with verve, visual flash (including surprisingly good special effects and well-choreographed kung fu), and a silly but effective script. Unfortunately, about half-way through the movie grows ... This is greasy-haired, mid-90's, existentialist anti-drama at it's finest. Cliff Spab walks the world, like Camus' Stranger, unaffected by the violence, sex and drugs that inundate him. He stands, balanced on the edge of a knife, sometimes loathing the people around him for their foolishness and self-serving pretensions, and at other times loving them and embracing them for their helplessness and curiousity.
