Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

A well-crafted family comedy about a fuzzy space alien who crash lands into the lives of the Tanner family, Alf Season Two spoons up a second serving of 26 episodes as deliciously witty as the first. The diminutive, sardonic Alien Life Form from planet Melmac (voiced by Paul Fusco) becomes an integral (and unabashed) part of the Tanner family in the sitcom's second season of its four-year run (1986-1990), with many of the storylines maximizing Alf's impish onstage chemistry with Willie (Max Wright). Alf is more outspoken this year and viewers will relish the nostalgic romps through his Alien Relocation Program, Melmacian hiccups, and brief stint in a monastery. Alf hosts the David Letterman show, rides the rails with "Boxcar Willie," recites his own rendition of "Born Free," and... The DVD release of Murphy Brown is particularly newsworthy. There had never been anyone on primetime quite like Murphy, the star investigative reporter for the Washington, D.C.-based television news magazine F.Y.I. As created by Diane English and embodied by Candice Bergen, Murphy was, in English's words, "Mike Wallace in a dress." On camera, she was tough, smart, and relentless. Off camera she was intriguingly flawed. In the pilot episode, her character returns to work following a stay at the Betty Ford Clinic. Over the course of the season, her sobriety is supremely tested by the chaotic goings-on inside the funniest newsroom since WJM on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Murphy must contend with an unending parade of ill-suited, stressed-out secretaries (a running joke... "He's just like E.T.," says a character of the fuzzy extraterrestrial stranded on Earth in the pilot episode of ALF. But the fun of this late 1980s family sitcom is that the sardonic ALF (an acronym for Alien Life Form) is nothing like the interplanetary innocent of Steven Spielberg's classic. With his whiplash wit and huckster sensibility, ALF (real name: Gordon Shumway from the late planet Melmac, Lower East Side) enters the lives of the Tanner family as a fully formed rascal whose spacecraft crashes into their garage one night. Worried that the feds will chop ALF up for research purposes, the Tanners--father Willie (Max Wright), a cautious civil servant who doesn't like a lot of fuss at home; wife Kate (Anne Shedeen), and kids Lynn (Andrea Elson) and Brian (Benji... This is the second best in the series of seven movies. It has drop down humor, and great jokes. One of my favorites, Douglas Fackler returns. Another great family film and is great for a party. The crew is all here, Larvell Jones, Moses Hightower, Hooks, Doug Fackler, Eugine Tackleberry, Debbie Calahan Nick Lassard, Thaddeus Harris, Procter, and Eric Lassard. And finally, after a long wait, the Police Academy series is coming to dvd. You can buy them seprate, or in a box set that I recommend you buying. The series will be realesed on April 6. This an ok dvd when it comes to features, it has a trailer and a making of reel. Here are some good parts in this movie, when Jones does Terminator, when Fackler knockes a lit cigar into the fireworks box, when hightower raps and when Tackleberry's...
