DVD Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

Air Buddies

The canine star of Air Bud and its host of sequels is on the screen again, but this time Buddy, his girlfriend Molly, and their human owners Noah and Henry have their hands and paws full with a litter of five mischievous puppies that talk. From Budderball who's obsessed with food to the meditating Bud-Dha and the dirt-loving Mudbud, each of the puppies is as unique as a sibling can be. When it comes time to adopt the young puppies into new families, humans and dogs alike are distraught and the puppies decide to run away. Enter a spoiled rich boy named Bartleby who wants Air Bud as a birthday present, a dim-witted cousin, and a doltish thug employed by Bartleby's father, and mayhem prevails as Buddy and Molly get dog-napped and Noah, Henry, and the runway puppies all set out to... MVP - Most Valuable Primate

How does Jack, a chimpanzee with the IQ of a genius, end up living in the frozen North and playing hockey on a kids' junior hockey team? It all starts with the unfortunate demise of the professor who trains and cares for him and the dean's plans to sell Jack to a research facility. Jack's somewhat slow-witted janitor friend puts Jack on a train bound for the El Simian reserve, but he sleeps through his stop and winds up in a small Canadian town instead. Jack quickly befriends Tara Westover, a deaf girl recently transplanted from California, and her brother Steven. Mishaps abound as Jack attempts to blend into the town, but eventually he joins Steven on the local hockey team--as its star player! Can Jack turn around the team's dismal record? MVP 2 - Most Vertical Primate

another movie about chimps and skateboards. like i didn't have enough to spend my paycheck on. so this one starts off seeming pretty cool, but when you consider this is the digital age i really think they could have had the chimp doing way better tricks. also, having a chimp go from playing hockey in one movie to skateboarding in the next is ridiculous. An unlikely friendship is forged when an overachieving chimpanzee meets a lonely boy with a love for snowboarding in MXP: Most Extreme Primate. The two quickly become close friends, and eventually Pete teaches Jack to snowboard and they become partners in a snowboarding race. Air Bud - Seventh Inning Fetch

That athletic phenom of a retriever is back for his fourth movie, trying his paw at baseball this time. Disney hasn't strayed far from the franchise formula, siccing upon the poor retriever yet another set of doggie thieves--this time mad scientists who want to capture Buddy and his pups to isolate the "Super Sports Gene." The original Josh (heartthrob Kevin Zegers) is also back, only to be dispatched to college soon after the opening credits. So it's younger sister Andrea (Caitlin Wachs) who needs Buddy's help this time, as she muffs her baseball debut and suffers the benign neglect of her parents (Cynthia Stevenson and Richard Karn). As with its predecessors, this is harmless, if inane, fun. Kids and dogs are heroes; adults are mostly benevolent screw-ups. Raccoons and scientists may... More Info About This DVD
