Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

Its so wonderful to watch these episodes again!! Its like watching them for the first time and they still pack a wallop. Whenever a new release date for a season is announced I count the days for this show!! There will never be another like it. I watched "Amazing Grace" pts. one and two last evening and I cried my eyes out!! What's nice about these seasons is that there is an interplay between "Promised Land" (TBAAs spin off) and TBAA. Now I just wish they would speed up the releases. Its bad enough having to split the seasons in two just so they can make more money but to have to wait almost ten months in between is just too much!! Hurry up with season four now!! Oh, and let me make a pitch in for 'Promised Land'. Lets get it out on DVD too!! Quality shows all the... I was afraid this movie was going to be a career versus family story. It isn't. It's a career-only versus career-with-family story. It seems to be speaking to those who feel that the decision to get married and have a family means giving up their dreams, setting low goals and having low expectations. This movie shows that you don't have to do it that way. You can get married, have a family and still strive to make something of your life. It does not show that it may (or may not) be harder that way, but the point is made.
If you want a career versus family movie, the best is "Me, Myself, I" (NO, not "Me, Myself and Irene"). This is an intelligent Australian movie that shows that both choices come with a price, both have their advantages and disadvantages. The movie... The entire Hercules series was a slapstick, wacky and wonderfully serious (at times) portrayal of one of the world's greatest legends. This show is just super for all ages and while the fight scenes get a little old, they're still fun to watch because they put a lot of subtle comedy into each and every episode. Hercules offers us insights and layers of relevant issues in any time, plus a whole lot of fun. Good beats evil. Right beats wrong. Any questions? More Info About This DVD Director(s): T.J. After Star Wars and the successful big-screen Star Trek adventures, it's perhaps not so surprising that Gene Roddenberry managed to convince purse string-wielding studio heads in the 1980s that a Next Generation would be both possible and profitable. But the political climate had changed considerably since the 1960s, the Cold War had wound down, and we were now living in the Age of Greed. To be successful a second time, Star Trek had to change too.
A writer's guide was composed with which to sell and define where the Trek universe was in the 24th Century. The United Federation of Planets was a more appealing ideology to an America keen to see where the Reagan/Gorbachev faceoff was taking them. Starfleet's meritocratic philosophy had always embraced all... I was pleasantly suprised to see a product such as this offered by Paramount. I love all of the Star Trek series, unfortunatley all the seasons hold the record as the most expensive series ever released onto DVD. This collection of Picard episodes was perfect for me to get seven great episodes and have them to watch over and over.
Despite what the name suggest, these episodes don't entirely focus on Picard. There are some great Worf, Wesley, and Data moments to be had as well!
I really, really, hope that Paramount decides to release more DVD sets like this to the public. I would love to see a Data, Quark, Doctor (VGR), or even Phlox DVDs released. Please hear my request Paramount!! Wow, there's a great collection of talent there! With episodes featuring award-winning actors such as Helen Hunt and Joe Pantoliano, and participation from fan-favorite director Paul Verhoeven, this surely is a must-have for any DVD collector Koch Canada will release The Complete First Season on DVD April 20th. This 3 disc set will contain 26 episodes The show must have aired differently in Canada because what Koch considers the first season is actually the first 3 seasons according to the episode guide at EPGuides.com. It's not all good news though; the people at Koch Canada said that they don't own the Canadian rights to the second Canadian season so they're unable to release those episodes.
