DVD Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest, a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the... Learn More

I Love Lucy - The Complete Third Season

Wow! The price of these dvds has realy shot down since there first release. I remember going to the stores the same day that they were released and paying about fourty five to fifety dollars for the season and I couldn't wait for each following season to come out, I spent a lot of dollars on these seasons, but it is truly worth it when you can find a program that you love to watch over and over again. Season 3-4 are definitely my favorite seasons to watch, and the picture quality of the dvds are absolutely remarkable. It is 10X better than watching I love Lucy on regular tv and you can definitely tell the difference when I love Lucy comes on cable tv. I have wondered if they will actually start making these sets in color and it is a big possibility for the future. I mean I love the black... More Info About This DVD

I Love Lucy - The Complete Second Season

Season 2 of I Love Lucy includes two of the most famous half-hours in television history. "Job Switching," originally broadcast mid-September of 1952, is the crazy, battle-of-the-sexes episode in which husbands Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz) and Fred Mertz (William Frawley) trade roles with wives Lucy (Lucille Ball) and Ethel (Vivian Vance), culminating in the men making a shambles of domestic chores while Lucy and Ethel take disastrous work at a chocolate factory. That's right: This is the show where the ladies have a Chaplinesque experience with a too-fast factory conveyor belt, forcing them to hide candies in their mouths, in their hats, and down their blouses lest a tough forewoman fire them for incompetence. A half-century later, the scene is still so fresh and funny it would... More Info About This DVD

I Love Lucy - Season One (Vol. 9)

This disc completes the 36 episodes from "I Love Lucy's" incredibly funny first season. And there are some wonderful moments on this disc.

It opens with "Lucy Gets Ricky on the Radio." Ricky's attempt to impress his wife by showing off some secret knowledge backfires when she thinks he can win the prize on a radio quiz show.

Next up is the hysterical "Lucy's Schedule." When Lucy makes Ricky late to an important business dinner, he decides to help her make better use of her time. But she has a few tricks up her sleeve to get her out of punching a time clock. This isn't usually listed in any lists of best episodes, but I love it.

"Ricky Thinks He's Getting Bald" is the weakest of the episodes presented here, but it's still worth seeing if for no other reason then the treatment Lucy... More Info About This DVD

I Love Lucy - Season One (Vol. 8)

On this volume of season one of I Love Lucy, there is one of the most memorable episodes. Vitavitavegamin is quite possibly the funniest I Love Lucy episodes. This episode shows I Love Lucy at her best with physical comedy. She shows that its not the script that matters but how to actress acts it out. Her facial expressions as well as speech will cause audiences to be rolling on the floor.

This disc also contains other memorable Lucy moments for the Freezer episode as well as Cuban Pals, showing Lucy's skills in Spanish. If you do not buy the entire season I would highly suggest just buying this volume.

I Love Lucy - Season One (Vol. 7)

It is interesting to rewatch the 1951-52 first season of "I Love Lucy," where the scripts were exploring the screwball possibilities of Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball) trying to break into the world of entertainment like her husband, Ricky (Desi Arnaz), bandleader at the Tropicana Club. The first half of the season was okay, but the second half finds the cast and writers Jess Oppenheimer, Madelyn Pugh, and Bob Carroll, Jr. really hitting stride. The theme of Volume 7 is on more about husbands and wives (or husbands versus wives) rather than on Lucy's show business aspirations:

Episode 24, "The Gossip" (March 24, 1952) offers another battle of the sexes as Fred (William Frawley) and Ricky bet they can keep from gossiping longer than Ethel (Vivian Vance) and Lucy. The outcome is predictable,... More Info About This DVD
