Doing for tigers what The Bear did for Grizzlies and Kodiaks, Two Brothers offers lush adventure with a message that anyone can take to heart. French filmmaker Jean-Jacques Annaud directed both films, blessing them with his keen eye for beauty and a love for wildlife that's as impassioned as it is infectious. This time, the adorable critters are Kumal and Sangha, sibling tiger cubs in French Indochina circa 1920, separated when a treasure-hunting adventurer (Guy Pearce) inadvertently leads them to capture. He makes amends by defending their right to freedom, but before that can happen, the now-grown tigers must endure cruel treatment that younger viewers (and sensitive adults) may find somewhat traumatic. There's a purpose to their ordeal, however, and Annaud (along with a world-class tiger trainer, 30 different tigers, and minimal use of digital trickery) films this uplifting story as a child's fable, with equal measures of danger and irresistible charm. As a family-friendly plea to protect endangered tigers everywhere, Two Brothers is cute, cuddly, and easily recommended. --Jeff Shannon
Great movie. Such a varied opinion of the film. The last reviewer I think needs to move out of his parents house and get a life. Highly recommended movie.
And I'm betting the hunters in this movie who mistreated the tigers would hurt good people if given the chance!
I am a very big tiger lover, as you might have found out in some of my reviews. And for that reason, I hated this movie! It is full of cruelty to tigers, and in one scene a father tiger gets shot for trying to protect his cubs! Plus, the cubs lives are ruined and they almost die. Oh, and don't forget that other animals are also treated poorly and some contemptible bi**h of a hunter's wife calls one of the cubs a monster for protecting himself from a bad mean dog(which if it were real I would torture it to death for mistreating the cub!)Lots of other stuff goes on evilly in this movie too, and I think it was made to show just how evil and deserving of death some people are! Thank God the tiger cubs survived and so did their mother. That was the only good part. Oh, and one other thing? Along with the fact that no tiger lover should see this movie, I don't care if it is meant to be touching and sweet. I wish I could make the hunters in this movie suffer like they did to not only the tigers, but also would have done to good people if they had the oppurtunity. If you love tigers-DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! I HOPE THAT EVERY ANIMAL SLAUGHTERING, GOOD PERSON KILLING POACHER ON THE PLANET GETS KILLED IN THE MOST BLOODY WAYS IMAGINABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent family viewing
This movie is beautifully done. Adults as well as children will thoroughly enjoy. I've watched it several times and will continue to do so.

Like a Hardy Boys mystery on steroids, National Treasure offers popcorn thrills and enough boyish charm to overcome its rampant silliness. Although it was roundly criticized as a poor man's rip-off of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Da Vinci Code, it's entertaining on its own ludicrous terms, and Nicolas Cage proves once again that one actor's infectious enthusiasm can compensate for a multitude of movie sins. The contrived plot involves Cage's present-day quest for the ancient treasure of the Knights Templar, kept secret through the ages by Freemasons past and present. Jamie Foxx's uncannily accurate performance isn't the only good thing about Ray. Riding high on a wave of Oscar buzz, Foxx proved himself worthy of all the hype by portraying blind R&B legend Ray Charles in a warts-and-all performance that Charles approved shortly before his death in June 2004. Despite a few dramatic embellishments of actual incidents (such as the suggestion that the accidental drowning of Charles's younger brother caused all the inner demons that Charles would battle into adulthood), the film does a remarkable job of summarizing Charles's strengths as a musical innovator and his weaknesses as a philandering heroin addict who recorded some of his best songs while flying high as a kite. Something got lost in translation from 1996's critically acclaimed Japanese comedy, but the American remake of Shall We Dance? is not without charms of its own.
