DVD Baise-Moi
Not for the faint-hearted. Baise-Moi defies categories--it features pornographic sex scenes and violent shootings, but it won't fit anyone's definition of an erotic thriller. After separately committing murders, two French women join together in a spree of crime and sex. Because both have endured abuse at the hands of men, the movie seems to start as a self-righteous parable--but the women's actions quickly degenerate into amoral, near random killings, with women shot as casually as men. One reviewer described Baise-Moi as "Thelma & Louise with actual penetration," but it's actually Thelma & Louise without Hollywood sentiment. By refusing to condemn or justify the protagonists' actions, and by depicting both sex and violence with unglamorous realism, Baise-Moi forces the viewer to respond in the most contradictory and basic ways. You may find the lead characters surprisingly sympathetic. Jarring, unsettling, and well worth watching. --Bret Fetzer
Baise-Moi is the story of an unlikely pair of discarded women who live life as mundane as anyone else. Yet their world is soon shattered by a gang rape which not only activates their pent-up frustrations and seething rage, but also shatters the bounds of taste and acceptability. What limits the film industry has establish, this dark film tears open with such graphic and violent scenes as to leave the viewer gasping for breath. Using actual porn actresses for their heroes, directors Virginie Despentes and Coralie, within the context of their film, they are able to integrate actual, factual sex scenes, which border on the pornographic. As a result, they unleash such explosive and virulent power which explodes with such rampant destruction as to illicit either excitement or revulsion in every viewer. In the context as Natural Born Killers and Thalma and Louise, Baise-Moi establishes for itself a true classical niche in the expanding genera of dramatic films.
Don't waste your time on this lame porno/drama.
Baise-Moi was a French film that caused a lot of controversy because of it's hardcore content. I thought I would take a chance and buy a copy of this flick. It's not all that and then some. The movie's nothing more than a glorified porno with a few scenes of violence thrown in. You'd think they would throw us a bone and have a girl-on-girl scene, not even that!
Not worth anyone's time or money. Just a lot of hot air over nothing.
Not recommended.
NATURAL BORN -THELMA AND LOUISE- DO PARIS!!!
You know, I bought this movie to be shocked and I am only slightly disturbed that it turned me on. I mean the two heroines are beautiful, mischievious, little bad girl types who have gotten in over thier heads. I found it hard to take this movie too seriously considering the stars are in fact Adult Film Actresses. Don't get me wrong. I was not put off by this, I just found their overwhelming sex appeal a distraction from the drama. I actually found myself hoping that these two girls would get away with there crimes and live somewhere happily everafter. Of course I felt the same way for Thelma and Louise. The over the top violence and the fact that it took so long for the cops to catch up to these sexy crooks kind of ruined the dramatic appeal of the film to me. But, I have got to give it high marks for being so bold...and because the female leads were...very easy on the eyes!
Irreversible begins with the closing credits running backwards before the film begins (or ends) with Marcus (Vincent Cassell) and Pierre (Albert Dupontel) being escorted out of a gay S&M club by the cops, Marcus with his arm broken and Pierre in handcuffs. The "story" proceeds to unwind in a series of single-take scenes that unfold Memento-style, with each scene giving more context to what we have seen previously. Each scenario depicts actions, dialogue, incident, behavior, and circumstances that the lead characters might have wished didn't happen, ranging from extreme violence through awkward social situations to mild embarrassment. The central character (and possible dreamer of this whole what-if story) emerges as Alex (Monica Bellucci), who suffers the worst in a very... I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. The sex scenes were some of the best I've seen because they were graphic yet very realistic. The story was touching and honest. If you're an adult who enjoys a realistic story that is very hot, you will definitely enjoy this gem. Watch and enjoy! A love letter to movies (and the French new wave of the 1960s in particular), Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers starts with a 1968 riot outside of a Parisian movie palace then burrows into an insular love triangle. Matthew (Michael Pitt, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), an expatriate American student, bonds with a twin brother and sister, Isabelle (Eva Green) and Theo (Louis Garrel), over their mutual love of film--they not only quote lines of dialogue, they act out small bits and challenge each other to name the cinematic source. Matthew suspects the twins of incest, but that doesn't stop him from falling into his own intimacies with Isabelle. As the threesome becomes threatened, Paris succumbs to student riots. The Dreamers aspires to be kinky, but the results are more... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Bernardo Bertolucci DVD Release Date: Released the 13 July 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours

I enjoy a good erotic film as much as anybody, and as a producer of some very erotic fare, I especially respect anyone who wants to make an erotic movie -- but the subject matter of teen sexuality was too much for even me! I don't know how they can even get away with selling this movie in the states. This one goes a little too far.
