Movie is OK, but DVD quality is practically non-existent, sound is just bad.

I hate to see the rating on this film misrepresented so I have to rate it. Aside from the lousy picture and sound, the movie stinks. Hard to believe both John Sturges and Charles Bronson were involved in this schlup, if that's even a word... Firstly, poor sound. Secondly, the film has been cut, heavily. Let us hope that Paramount release it on DVD soon, as it is their film. In the meantime, if anyone wants to see this film then just buy the Paramount VHS tape- it's very good quality for picture & sound & it is UNCUT! Do not waste your money or time on this poor attempt at a DVD release!!! I actually originally picked up Someone Behind The Door on VHS for 99 cents. I was a huge Bronson fan and said "what the hell" and got it. The title and cover did not make the film too appealing, but I was actually taken by total surprise by the film. Fans of Bronson's action films, don't expect the same here. This is more of a thought provoking thriller. What got me the most is the great performances by Bronson, Perkins, and Bronson's then wife . The story centers on brain sergon Anthony Perkins finding amnesia victim Bronson. Perkins takes him in for care and somehow convices him to murder his wife. The ending is spactacular. Smartly written and moves at a brisk pace. Though this is one of Bronson's more obsecure films, it well worth for fans to check out. This one his rarities that he... After several excursions into supernatural horror, Dario Argento returned to the homicidal frenzy that made his reputation with this mystery that plays more like a grown-up slasher movie than a detective thriller. Anthony Franciosa stars as Peter Neal, a bestselling horror novelist whose promotional tour in Italy takes a terrible turn when a mysterious killer re-creates the brutal murders from his book with real-life victims. The first to die are so-called "deviants," Neal's own friends, and finally there comes a promise that the author himself is next on the list. Columbo it ain't, but Argento has always been more concerned with style than story and his execution of the crimes is pure cinematic bravura. From the simple beauty of a straight razor shattering a light bulb (the... William Friedkin briefly revived his faltering career with this sleek, bleak thriller of a pair of secret service agents on the trail of a counterfeiter. William L. Peterson is the hotshot protégé of a career agent killed by the ruthless, almost feral counterfeiting genius Willem Dafoe (Platoon). Now Petersen, teamed with the smart but still green John Pankow (TV's Mad About You), is ready to twist arms, lean on criminals, steal, and even murder to exact his revenge. The harrowing chase through the streets of Los Angeles that climaxes on the freeway at rush hour, where Friedkin's brilliant twist sends them heading the wrong way, careening through a sea of cars coming straight at them, is still one of the most breathtaking car chases ever filmed. Friedkin's edgy... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): William L. Petersen - Willem Dafoe Director(s): William Friedkin DVD Release Date: Released the 02 December 2003 Usually ships in 24 hours
