This movie is a lot of fun. The basic plot is, two kids Grover and Stacey, lock their parents in the basement after they break the news that they are getting seperated. Grover and Stacey think that all they need is time to work out their problems. Soon Grover's friends decide their parents could use some help, and bring them over. The kids try to help their parents as the parents try to escape. A nosy neighbour across the street is constantly watching, but the kids are determined to get their parents back together. This movie is definitley fun for the whole family.
One of the best movies ever made!
I laughed so hard, especially when the guy got stuck, that was funny!! JLH was awesome again!! This is one of the movies she didn't have to save, she just made it better!! The acting was top notch, even the main actor was good in this! Curtis and Pollack were great as the parents. This movie is due to be one of the best ever, I just rented it, and soon I'll buy it! It's awesome, get this movie, it rules!! I love Jennifer(LH), she's so amazing, and funny! Pollack is an awesome actor! Curtis just shined! And the rest of the actors were amazing, get this movie, it's the best!!
Great
Why do people put their reviews on here and explain the entire movie? Dude, just give your opinion of the movie! :) This movie rocked, because I love the interaction of the kids, and they seem mean in what they do, but truly have great intentions. Classic storyline, too bad it wasn't popular.
A clever idea, to produce a new spin on the summer camp movie involving the kids inventing their own camp and conning their unsympathetic parents to part with the necessary cash after they've been hoodwinked by the kids' token "grown-up", Christopher Lloyd, in various guises.
Some moral lessons, lightly delivered, but the highlight of the movie is Jonathan Jackson's performance, with a young Andrew ably Keegan supporting.
The high-speed turnarounds, when the parents come visiting expecting completely different camps, provide an exciting denouement & round off a fun movie for all the family. We thoroughly enjoyed the first part of this movie and had a lot of laughs. Tom Arnold makes a convincing "good" bad guy, and the kids help the plot along with the grumpy dad. The movie loses steam when the car chase ends and they end up in Tom Arnold's carnival, and then to the dad's executive meeting. To be honest, I gave up on the movie at that point and let the boys play the X-box, as my interest was completely lost. Ok, a lot of people are hammering this movie pretty hard and their opinions are justified. This movie is sort of wack. But it does have enough moments, excuse me, enough Jennifer Love Hewitt to make me like this film. The acting is subpar with the exceptions of Hewitt and Brenneman, and it isn't even remotely funny. Basically this movie gets a good rating because of JLH's awesome presence here. I really enjoyed this movie for a few reasons. I thought they did a great job with the cast..even though I am not a JLH fan. I enjoyed the other characters and even the story line. It's not a classic, but the story has a moral to it. It's slow at times, but the good parts (like the discussion about the panda and the ostrich) are funny. It's a basic high-school-mentality movie that doesn't rank with others like it, but my husband and I love this cute movie. I would recommend it.
