DVD A Very Brady Sequel
This second ironic send-up of the old Sherwood Schwartz sitcom is even funnier than The Brady Bunch Movie. Shelley Long and Gary Cole return as the married heads of the merged family known as the Bradys, and Christopher Daniel Barnes and Christine Taylor reprise their roles as eldest stepsiblings Greg and Marcia. As with the first film, the clever premise finds the Brady clan caught in a kind of '70s time warp, while the rest of the world has moved well into the '90s. Greg is still looking for a "groovy girlfriend," Mr. Brady thinks the idea of a cable that sends 50 channels to one's TV set must be a joke, and Mrs. Brady spends hours at the beauty shop only to look exactly the same as she went in. There's a plot involving an imposter (Tim Matheson) who claims to be Carol's long-lost husband, but the real charge in this comedy comes from the way these pseudohip characters deal with sexual taboos (is there any real reason that Greg and Marcia shouldn't get it on?) and the incredulous reactions of other people. --Tom Keogh
A Very Brady Sequel is very funny. It's as funny and delightful as the hilarious original. An imposter, played by Tim Matheson, comes to the Brady house claiming to be Mrs. Brady's long lost husband. Huh?. It turns out he just wants the horse statue that resides in the Brady household. The end climax of this storyline take place in Hawaii. Other plots involve the mutual attraction between Greg and Marcia. It's played for laughs and it really gets them!. Again, the actors are all incredible. They bring these characters alive with incredibly accurate impressions of the original actors. Especially Gary Cole as Mr. Brady. Just like the original, there are jokes that deal with happenings in classic Brady episodes. Some of them might not make sense to those who aren't a Brady Bunch dictionary. This is a fun, entertaining little film. It's worth a look. Or two, or three, or four....
Superior sequel- still hilarious
From the amazing success of it's predecessor, it wasn't long before a sequel emerged. A VERY BRADY SEQUEL still proves to be hilarious if not better than the original. The sequel delves deeper into the Brady theme. Sexual tabboes are explored such as the idea that went through all our heads at one stage- is it possible for Greg and Marcia to have a relationship. The sexual tension between the two is hilarious and leaves us with a will they won't they idea which of course keeps the movie interesting. Unlike the first, the sequel introduces corny 70's expressions such as 'outta sight...neato..' which sound incredibly stupid yet funny at the same time.
Again, the plot proves to be fairly mundane yet it doesn't seem to matter. Carol's supposed ex husband returns to be re-united with her and her childred. However, what this conman really wants is a priceless horse sculpture worth a lot of money. Can the Brady's foil the imposter and stop him? Hilarious must see film
Barbara Eden Plays "Jeannie" in the movie
The Best scene is with Barbara Eden playing "Jeannie".Although uncredited in the credits her scene is the Best. The scene has Jeannie arriving at the Brady's anniversary party looking for Mike Brady.Jeannie tells them he is her husband. The Best movie based on the TV show.Better than the original movie.
The big-screen version of the hugely popular 1970s television sitcom takes an original angle: instead of simply re-creating the old series, the film spoofs it by presenting the merged family as blithely unaware that fashions and customs have changed in the '90s. Shelley Long and Gary Cole are hilarious as the ultra-square yet libidinous Mr. and Mrs. Brady, Christopher Daniel Barnes is an ideal Greg, and Christine Taylor seems practically cloned from the original Marcia. But director Betty Thomas (Private Parts) shifts the emphasis away from comparisons between old and new Bradys and concentrates on quasi-surreal parodies and set pieces featuring the Brady kids doing their spirited, singing thing for a disbelieving public. Smart, sharp, and happy to share its conspiratorial mood... This somewhat more cohesive follow-up to The Addams Family has the same director, Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black), but a better story line. Joan Cusack plays a busty gold digger who ingratiates herself into the Addams home and convinces Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) that she wants to marry him. Besides Lloyd, the cast includes Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia, ideal as those Brontëan lovers, Morticia and Gomez. But Christina Ricci again walks away with the best moments as the chilly Wednesday Addams, making life miserable for two camp counselors (Peter MacNicol and Christine Baranski) who want her to fit in with other kids.--Tom KeoghMore Info about this DVD Actor(s): Anjelica Huston - Raul Julia - Christopher Lloyd Director(s): Barry Sonnenfeld DVD Release Date: Released the 22 February 2000 Usually ships in 24 hours

This is a very dated comedy but it is good for a few laughs from those who might remember the cultural references. The emphasis is on "a few laughs". This movie certainly does not live up to the standard set by the NAKED GUN series or to that set by AIRPLANE. That's sad since it is from the same source and Leslie Nielsen plays the lead.
The story is of an exorcist who has gone into retirement after his last successful exorcism of a young girl. Many years later, that girl, now a woman, is repossessed while watching TV. The exorcist is reluctant to come out of retirement and tries to delegate the work to a young priest. The priest winds up getting help from a televangelist at first and then just about every other religious figure imaginable after... Alicia Silverstone won everyone over with her portrayal of a Beverly Hills teen, Cher, whose penchant for helping others with their relationships and self-esteem is a cover for her own loneliness. Director Amy Heckerling (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) made a smart, funny variation on Jane Austen's novel Emma, sweetly romantic and gently satirical of 90210 social manners. The cast is unbeatable: Dan Hedaya as Cher's rock-solid dad, Wallace Shawn as a geeky teacher, Paul Rudd as the boy who has always been Cher's surrogate brother--and the true holder of her most secret wishes. --Tom KeoghMore Info about this DVD Actor(s): Alicia Silverstone - Stacey Dash - Brittany Murphy - Paul Rudd Director(s): Amy Heckerling DVD Release Date: Released the 19 October 1999 This item is currently not available.
