Review(s): DVD Power Yoga, Weight Loss Series, 2 Titles-on-1 DVD
Seems easy, but isn't!
While this video is a little more instructional than I like, and it seemed a little too easy to do, I woke up the next day and it hurt to walk! 2 days later I was almost back to normal. This is a powerful workout, and I highly recommend it for intermediate/advanced users. I heart Bryan Kest!

This is the goofiest yoga dvd I've seen so far. Borrowed from my Sister and it will go back to her. I really wouldn't consider this a serious yoga practice. It's more of a gym-style workout you'd find in LA ;o)

Power yoga "demands your attention," says instructor Rodney Yee. He leads a challenging, constantly progressing series of poses, one flowing into the next, integrating breath, movement, tension, and relaxation. The poses include Sun Salutation, standing poses, forward bends, back bends, twists, and arm balances. The first poses are fairly easy, and with each repetition of the series, Yee adds on more difficult movements, extending the series without pausing. You're encouraged to do as much of the series that fits your level, up to the entire 65-minute workout if you're an experienced yoga practitioner. Although you can begin at any level, some familiarity with yoga is recommended. The Hawaiian setting is gorgeous and inspiring. This is an excellent yoga workout that you can grow with,... I have 31 yoga tapes and dvds altogether. This is the only one I can't bring myself to do. I wish I could though, because the routine itself is very good. Lots of variety in exercises. But like the other reviewer said this instructor talks incessantly, and at a rate of God knows how many hundred words per minute! Yikes. Much of it is syrupy and unnecessary. He tries to impress upon you what a nice guy he is with his extreme earnestness. His comments are bizarre. I think he thinks of himself as a would-be poet, but I've read great poetry and this guy should definitely stick to yoga. But worse than that is his inability to respect the fact that while doing yoga you need some quiet time to go deep within. He talks a mile a minute and doesn't stop to take a breath. He bombards you with... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Bjorn Enga DVD Release Date: Released the 18 May 2002 Usually ships within 24 hours

I've been doing yoga for several years now, both classes and tapes. I've tried several tapes/dvds and I believe Bryan Kest's are truly the best. I've purchased five so far. The practice is very challenging, my strength and endurance have increased tremendously. The videos average from 40 minutes to just under an hour, long enough to get an excellent workout but not too long to fit it in a busy day. Some of his commentary gets a little old after a while but its a workout tape, not a movie & I can live with that. Turn down the volume & listen to Enya if it bothers you. Bottom line, I'd recommend any of his videos/dvds to any beginner/intermediate level practitioner, they're well worth the price.
