If you (or your kids) liked Playing Dangerous, 3 Ninjas, Catch That Kid, Agent Cndy Banks (this film originated the idea), you'll probably find this almost as good, with a touch of Thunderbirds Are Go. Some of the acting is campy, but much is competent. Some of the effects are phony in an almost intentional or nostalgic way - and some quite good for a low budget. Some of the comedy childish, but much is witty ("If your boy survives, he'll be the greatest hero since Ollie North!"). The Dr. Strangelove-like villain wears a Hitler puppet, until he's blown up and only his brain survives and communicates with a TV. For the most part suitable for children, moderately fun for adults. I gave it 5 stars because the target audience will love this. More Info about this DVD Director(s): Marcus van Bavel DVD Release Date: Released the 24 February 2004 Usually ships within 7 to 8 days

Fine casting, genuinely special effects, and a keen combination of whimsy and danger make this Peter Pan the one to beat among all previous adaptations of J.M. Barrie's classic children's fantasy. The technical advances of CGI make the magic of Barrie's tale come alive, and the spectacular effects combined with luminous live action create an action-packed Neverland that's both believable and breathtakingly artificial, like a Maxfield Parrish landscape springing vividly to life before your eyes. More important, however, is the fact that director P.J. Hogan (whose splendid films include Muriel's Wedding and My Best Friend's Wedding) has taken care to develop a substantial, pre-adolescent affection between the boyish sprite Peter (Jeremy Sumpter) and resourceful... "Class Trip" ("La classe de neige") is a psychological thriller about fourteen-year old Nicolas (very well played by Clement van den Bergh), sent to a school in the French Alps. Although his teachers are supportive, Nicolas is withdrawn. He gradually develops a friendship with fellow student Hodkann (played by Lokman Nalcakan). Nicolas seems consumed with shocking memories, or are they wild fantasies? Artificial limbs, children abducted for organ harvesting, paramilitary attacks on the school, freezing to death in a car, his own funeral, missing children, hostile fathers, and monkey paws granting wishes all make appearances. Nicolas quietly tells Hodkann and some others parts of the story. What is true and what is not? What to do about it? The suspense builds quite masterfully to a... The story is predictable, the writing sophomoric. Yet I still managed to enjoy it, and I appreciated the performances given by Mark Harmon and especially Jeremy Sumpter as "Skeet". Jeremy is an amazing young actor (check him out in "Frailty" if you haven't already) who brings a natural charm to his character -- he never seems forced or phony. Might even bring a tear to your eye in a couple scenes . ;) Mark Harmon is quite the pro at this kind of thing and a pleasure to watch. Same for most of the rest of the cast. As I said, this is not a masterpiece, but it's an OK little surf-oriented movie with nice cinematography and music, and a decent enough story to hold my interest. For whatever is charged for this video you will be getting your money's worth. There is an impressive 10 hours of video episodes (most 45 minutes) as well as extras about Australia's history on this 2 DVD set. How many movie companies will give you five hours of video and audio material on one DVD. I love the acting of Jamie Croft as Bruno. You get a lot of enjoyment out of watching this 1930's movie about a boy growing up with his family in Australia. This film would be especially good if you have a back seat TV and DVD player in some van and you want to entertain the kids after logging many miles and hours of road time. I would give this movie ten stars if I could. It is that good. More Info about this DVD DVD Release Date: Released the 14 January 2003 Usually ships within 3 to 4 days
