The story is original and the movie is enough well made!
Story: Kyle's a police officer, and his partner is his dog, Hunter. Hunter gets killed in the line of duty, and his spirit comes back in the body of a criminal named Howie. Howie, with the spirit of Hunter in him, helps Kyle in solving a dastardly plot. A police veterinarian, Amanda Morton (play by the actress Daphne Zuniga!!!!!!! from Melrose Place) will help Kyle and Howie for found the main guy...

If you are wanting to see anything that even vaguely looks like the Illiad, forget this movie. The death of Hector is poor beyond belief. It was a waste of money, oh well. Smarter than Armageddon and equally extreme, The Core is high-tech Hollywood hokum at its finest. It's scientifically ridiculous, but this variant of Fantastic Voyage at least tries to be credible as it plunges deep into the earth's inner core, where a formulaic team of experts pilot an earth-boring ship to jump-start the planet's spinning molten interior, now stalled by a military secret that could seal the fate of all humankind.
