Despite it's awkward title and slow start, "Miner's Massacre" turns out to be quite an interesting take on the slasher genre. Here we have a group of friends(who look wayyyyy to old to pass as teenagers) searching for treasure in an old mine. The locals repeatedly warn them not to go near the mine for good reason. They are soon stalked and slaughtered by a re-animated 1800's-era miner who's trying to protect his gold. What "Miner's Massacre" lacks in originality, it makes up for in it's humorous script and memorable characters(particularly the Steve Buscemi lookalike Axl). The young actors are attractive and mostly appealing, and the cast is rounded out by some seasoned vets(John Philip Law, Karen Black, Richard Lynch, Jeff Conaway, and Martin Kove). "Miner's Massacre" is a satisfying blend of horror, action, and comedy. It may not be the best of it's genre, but it's hard not to like this movie.
Great slasher flick
I love this movie it has everything sex,hot girls,nudity,and some gore.Sure it has elements from "Wrong Turn", and "Jeepers Creepers" but who cares.If you like this movie then I recomend these movies to watch:

Boring, Boring, Boring, oh wait and BORING
I LOVE horror movies, I love gore, blood, and massacres, but this movie was HORRIBLE!! There are 6 people who are in search of gold... a woman's brother told her to come to this place because he found soooo much gold. So, she gets her boyfriend and her 2 other pairs of friends who are couples. At first, the movie started out good, but then it just turned so CHEESY! The legend was that this man (the 49er or miner) found some gold, but he was *evil* and he liked to kill people. So, he then sold his spirit to the devil and said anyone who comes and takes my gold will awaken me and all who are in my path or have taken my gold shall die. (hmm haven't we heard something like this before??) and basically they the 3 couples take the gold and now they must pay, becaues they woke up the spirit of the 49er. There is like NO gore at all in this movie. If you saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre you know that he hangs his victims on a hook right... well thats EXACTLY what this guy did, except he put a bucket under then to catch the blood. Also, there are so many cheesy, wisecrack, sexual, jokes. If you really wanna see a GOOD HORROR MOVIE... may I recommend, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "Jeepers Creepers 1 or 2" Like I said if you like boring, cheesy, crappy movies, this is the MOVIE FOR YOU!
Ok, this is a silly one. The plot and characters make no sense (although the Sheriff is really fun to watch). The camera work is on a par with Blair Witch.
A couple has sunk all of their money into buying a farm and setting up a haunted house. Somehow a week's worth of business is supposed to create profit.
Unfortunately, they have disturbed the ground by removing trees (never disturb the ground in anyplace with the name Hobb, didn't we learn that in Five Million Years To Earth?). By doing so, they have released a demon (looks like Swamp Thing in rags) that kills certain people (although he drags it out over many days).
The first to go is the daughter of the man who owns the town. Her disappearance goes unnoticed except by her coworkers (guess daddy was too busy).
"Shredder" is so completey out of touch with reality one just has to wonder: were the filmakers trying to make a horror parody or were they just failing miserably at making a serious slasher film? What can you say about a film with plot holes so big you could drive a snow plow through them? Or that has its characters walking around in the snow in just their underwear? To add to the ridiculousness, at one point the killer trips and falls over a corpse. And we're supposed to be afraid of this klutz?! I could go on, but you should really watch this one yourself to fully appreciate the absurdness of this whole mess. This movie was a riot to watch. The fact that this came from a major studio(MGM) just boggles the mind. "Shredder" completely fails as a horror film, but it succeeds... Pretty typical B-movie fare. Sorority girls are being bumped off at their 5 Year Reunion(like anyone would actually go). Anyway, it's up to 2 miscast actors playing detectives to unmask the killer. Basic stuff. This one tries to be more of a police thriller than a slasher flick(not a wise move), though all the trappings are in place for an old school horror bloodbath. You've got your bikini bimbos, a masked killer, and a fair amount of blood; yet this falls short of being a satisfying outing. I guess the main problem is that the victims solely exist to be offed. We have no emotional attatchment to any of them. Too much time is spent on the detectives and their investigation. Oh, well.
