A WONDERFUL COPY OF A CULT, FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!! JAYNIE IS AT HER BEST, JUST CHEWING UP THE SCENERY!!!! THE MUSIC, BY CARLO SAVINA, IS A CULT CLASSIC ALSO!!!!
I have not seen this film, but I realize that the actress in the short segment titled "Apples, Knockers & the Coke Bottle" is being advertised as Marilyn Monroe. For a long time, it was thought that it was indeed Monroe, but the actress who appears in is actually a woman named Arline Hunter. Hunter does bare a striking resemblance to Marilyn, but be assured it is not Marilyn who appears in this film.
Cary Grant--the man who defines "movie star"--plays Andy Crewson, a Navy war hero at the tail end of World War II who cons his way into a four-day leave in San Francisco. While a slick PR guy tries to turn Grant's hero status into a well-paying job, Crewson only has eyes for Gwinnith (Suzy Parker, one of the first supermodels)--who just happens to be the fiancée of a shipbuilding tycoon. Grant is always watchable, but the rest of the movie suffers from an identity crisis; while an aspiring Congressman (Ray Walston, The Apartment) cheerfully admits joined the Navy to further his political career, a buxom young woman (Jayne Mansfield, trying very hard to be Marilyn Monroe) offers herself to everyone in uniform because she sincerely feels it's her patriotic duty.... I only gave this movie 2 stars because of its 2 stars: Mamie Van Doren and Jayne Mansfield. Without the presence of these 2 bombshells, the film is a complete bomb. As a piece of film history, it has its place. As entertainment, it's atrocious, even for the time. Still, as I've said, it does have Mamie & Jayne! The male actors are laughable and the plot virtually non-existent, although you can say that about a lot of modern films too. Only get this film if you're passionate about its 2 lusty blonde actresses. Otherwise, get a life! More Info about this DVD Director(s): Arthur C. This movie comes with a lot of hype but very little substance. We start with a newlywed couple who drive onto private property. The man is let go, but the woman is thrown in a women's prison. A prison where guards and prisoners all go topless. A tyrannical and sadistic warden watches over all.
But the warden and the prison seem to be around solely for the benefit of the Governor and his wife as they take advantage of the availability of the female captives.
Throw in a little slavery, prostitution, and the return of the new husband bent on rescuing his bride and you pretty much have the whole film.
Nudity, depraved sex, and violence are in almost every single scene. But there is little or no feeling of connection in the movie. The warden's wife is trying to have his baby but some of... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Jesus Franco DVD Release Date: Released the 27 January 2004

Elizabeth Taylor reportedly said those words to her director Griffi when she came on the set the day after she left Burton for their first divorce. So with that mindset she went to work on one of her most unusual, daring and controversial films. From the moment "The Diver's Seat" begins you know you are in a strange place. In Europe the movie was called "Idendikit" so, with two names tagged to it thus making it schizophrenic from the first it easily falls into the realm of the ambiguous art film genre of the late 60's and early 70's. It's star, Elizabeth Taylor, appears here in one of her most remote and dangerous roles. She plays Lise a woman who is consumed by insanity and the desire to find the ultimate lover, the be all and end all of boyfriends you might say. As the film...
