    Best Jersey Devil Movie Ever...

Its actually the only movie about the jersey devil. That may be a good thing... because in all actuallity it was the worst movie that I have ever seen. The story line was all jacked up from the jersey devil stories that I have heard. Special effects... I could do better with my own camcorder from '85. If you are thinking about buying this movie or even thinking of watching it, Save your time and money and watch a Pauly Shore movie or something. At least those are viewable. Boycott this dvd, the whole crew that worked on this movie and if you know one of these people please let them know how bad it is. Im sure they already know it too.

    The SNORE-INATOR

Despite the fact that it has some really good actors this film is just so BAD.
The JERSEY DEVIL monster only looks disturbing in literally the last two minutes of the film when it rises out of a pool of blood. Throughout the rest of the film it resembles a man in a bad monster suit (ripped off from the GIGER ALIEN design yet again).
This film PLODS on and the minor characters are all more entertaining and interesting than the main ones. Specifically the female investigator. She is like an unnattrative NAOMI WATTS blonde (with a really hideous personality) crossed with DANA SCULLY. So basically you have someone who you can feel no empathy with and literally can't stand.
The evil Mr. Shroud who somehow is linked to the JERSEY DEVIL through some kind of ancestral silliness walks around through the film grumbling and mumblings lines like, "Have you seen my friend Bruno?" (Bruno being his pet name for his fake looking Jersey Devil pal).
I have seen worse films but not by much.
The idea was cool and the image of the JERSEY DEVIL rising from the pool of blood is quite well done. But sitting throught the entire movie to see the ONLY good part is NOT something I could recommend to anyone else.

I watched it, what else can I say.

Was it awful, yes. Was it confusing, yes. Was the acting bad, not really, the girl inspector was good, Robert Guilium was good, the Rangers were good enough. The story pretty much sucked though. The creature would have been better if never seen. I would have given the movie 3-stars if the creature where only seen in shadows. I think the problem was that the story might have been decent (in a book or comic), but was not designed to translate very well into a movie.

Cabin Fever - Special Edition DVD

A sneaky and surprisingly smart horror flick, Cabin Fever sets up all the cliches of its particular subgenre (what might be called the "sexy young people go into the woods" horror movie, featuring hostile redneck locals, dead animals on hooks, cars that suddenly stop running, etc.) and by the end has played a clever twist on every standard element, often to darkly comic effect. What's the plot? Well, five sexy young people (Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, Joey Kern, Cerina Vincent, and James DeBello) go to an isolated cabin where they contract a nasty bacteria that eats their flesh; this, combined with a bad-tempered dog and a party-loving police deputy (Giuseppe Andrews, giving a particularly funny performance), leads everyone into confusion and bloody chaos. Some of the ironic twists... More Info about this DVD

    Mimic 3 - Sentinel DVD

The lack of money shows especially on the 'street scenes'. They're always in the same spot in the middle of the 2 or 3 buildings where all the characters live, in 'the rear window' style. This is OK given the plot's nature, the problem is there are almost no extras and no sound effects of city life either, it's like a post-apocalyptic movie where half the population are dead. The main character's room is under-produced too.
Otherwise it's quite entertaining. Strangely, the movie succeeds to hold your interest during the more subdued first and second act, but falls apart in the last act, when all the action and special effects start kicking in. I think this part was ackwardly edited and isn't very effective.
The dvd has a good widescreen anamorphic transfer, and the cast's audition... More Info about this DVD

    Pranks DVD

Another 80's college film in which all the "students" look older than expected. College girl Joanne Murray takes on the unenviable job of readying the student housing building to become apartments, which includes selling the unneeded furniture, etc. This takes place during a break, so a mysterious psycho is stalking the nearly-empty premises on campus. Need more?

Who's the killer? Is it weirdo John Hemmit from Room 25, an older resident of the dorm with a fuzzy Bozo-the clown balding head? He's played by "Woody Roll," by the way. Or is it jeans-jacket wearing redneck Bobby Lee, who hits on our heroine? Watch it and see.

As you can imagine, this is typical slasher stuff, with overly dramatic music that sounds ripped off from "Psycho." Don't expect anything earth-shattering; you do get... More Info about this DVD

    Fever Lake DVD

The acting was horrible and the directing was even worse. What the hell were they thinking? It starts off interesting enough with a man chasing a woman down with an axe and slicing her to bits, then the killer looks up at this little boy that's hiding in the attic and says something about it'll happen to you and it just ends there. How dumb, boring, and pathetic waste of time. AVOID! More Info about this DVD

    El Chupacabra DVD

El Chupacabra is by far, the worst movie I have seen in the last few years. Imagine a horror film where the "monster" looks like a retarded chimp that's been punched in the face a few too many times, and has fallen into a vat of green dye. In spite of the fact that it's less than 3 feet tall and moves like it's doing the potty dance in slow motion, it manages to kill several stupid humans that aren't smart enough to just kick it like a football and beat it with a stick. Sadly, the monster being on-screen is the highlight of this movie, as the acting is horrible. I rented this movie expecting a really bad, d-movie, and it exceeded my expectations by far.
