  • DVD Miracle Dogs

Cute puppies bring health and happiness to the denizens of an Ohio hospital in Miracle Dogs. When young Charlie Logan (Josh Hutcherson) and his parents (Kate Jackson and Ted Shackelford) accidentally run into a stray Springer Spaniel, the injury is minor but the dog turns out to have cancer in one of her forelegs, which has to be amputated. To save the dog from euthanasia, Charlie smuggles her into the Cleveland Clinic, where his parents work, and keeps her in the basement with the assistance of the cantankerous custodian (Stacey Keach). But in no time the dog, now dubbed Annie by Charlie, starts wandering through the hospital, miraculously healing the patients. Hospital rules and miraculous healing collide in this adaptation of the popular children's book Annie Loses Her Leg But Finds Her Way, which is sure to warm the heart of any dog-lover. --Bret Fetzer

    Review(s): DVD Miracle Dogs
    Great Animal Movie

My son and I really enjoyed this movie! It is heartwarming, inspiring, and spiritually thought provoking; albeit somewhat predictable at times. The really big plus is that the plot is believable and did not anthropomorphasize (give the dogs human traits/capabilities a la Stuart Little and Chiken Run)the dogs. Animal Lovers will rejoice.

It's a miracle this dog made it to video...

I caught this stinker on Animal Planet, and found myself longing for re-runs of anything else that this previously respected cable broadcaster might have in their vaults. Now, to find that it's being released to video is the final insult to the integrity of the home entertainment industry. Oh wait, it's from UAV video, the company that specializes in producing ultra-low-end "knock-off's" of legitimate Disney films. What film are they copying from with Miracle Dogs? Perhaps next time they should copy a film with an interesting plot and talented actors.

Our dog was an extra in this movie!

Our dog, Karli, was an extra in this movie for one of the scenes filmed at the Humane Society. We had adopted her and someone told us that several months later, so we just had to buy the movie. I'm hoping the extra scenes and "making of" part will have more of our dog in it. Of course, I would highly recommend you purchase this movie.

    Death at Love House DVD

Being a huge Kate jackson fan, I just could not miss this one. The movie itself is pretty good, Kate's performance is brilliant, and the rest of the cast do a good job too. But I am so disapointed with the quality of the DVD,it is just awfull, even a old vhs would be better !! It is just a shame to sell a DVD with such poor quality, the sound is terrible and the image is even worth !! 5 stars for the movie, 0 for the quality (only because you can not give negative rates !!) Larceny DVD

Here's a film that tries so hard to be a satire it misses the mark by way over a mile. Meant to ridicule a dozen or so inane LA types, the film itself winds up being ridiculously inane. Characters include:

a self-absorbed British black man who runs for mayor of the city and wins
two self-absorbed young guys who love dressing up and killing people
three self-absorbed sexy girls who chatter endlessly and go to lots and lots of parties
one big fat self-absorbed crude older guy who wallows in his crude self-absorption
and our hero, Nick, whose own self-absorption leads him from selling underwear in NY City to posing as an upcoming artist

Good satires bring out the substance of the film--the satire--with sharp punchy interaction between the characters. That's nowhere in... More Info about this DVD

    Silk Hope DVD

Very cute Light hearted drama/comedy. Frannie returns home to the town of Silk Hope in one of the Carolinas after her dissapearing to god knows where for three months or so, she finds that things have changed; Her mom has passed away, Her sister wants to sell the House and Farm in which she has grown up on. Frannie realizes that she needs to "TRY" and become a responsible person so that she can buy out her sister's half of the house and Farm because she feels it should remain in the family. The comedy in this movie is that Frannie has a very hard time trying to remain focused on being responsible. Also Frannie for the first time finds herself falling in love, also decides on a whim to pig farm, and in the meanwhile she tries scaring away potential buyers of her land. I think Farrah shines...
