I think that this movie could have been done a bit better. It had a good concept and some well done scenes but it drags on a bit too much. The weird fantasy enviroment is awesome and it makes this film worth a peek if you like weirdness. The plot however can be viewed as a series of loosly conected holes together by stunning animation.

My memory of this movie was almost "spot-on". Its mix of live/animation action was ... well, "cool". ;)The main reason for my not rating it a "5" is simply that (as I expected from a used tape) there were, as I recall, a very few "tracking-glitches". But nothing too serious.Thanks again for a "cool" movie.
People bad mouthing this movie have no style
This has to be one of the BEST movies I've ever seen! It's funny, way out there in an awesome way, the artistry was different than anything else I've seen, and yeah, while the storyline was obvious and silly, that's what made it fun to watch. That is was so silly and different. Also, having the mix of Kim Basinger , Gabriel Byrne, and Brad Pitt (though I'm a fan of the first two, not really Pitt *lol*), it made for an interesting blend.
So, I hope some people will give this movie more of a chance and watch it with an open mind.

As long as there is a need for adolescent male sexual fantasy, there will be an audience for Heavy Metal.
