This is four episodes of the burns allen show. Gracie is so hilarious with those crazy and quirky one-liners! I don't know how she kept a straight face! I loved it! George was a great straight man! If you love good comedy get this one!
Three features (just over an hour each), showcase the well-honed comic patter of George Burns and Gracie Allen during the busiest time in their movie career, the mid-1930s. Gracie's dingbat malapropisms were so perfectly straightforward ("I really shouldn't drink coffee in the morning; it keeps me awake all day"), and Burns's straight-man timing so unerring, the pair was often funnier than their material. They road-trip west in Leo McCarey's amusing Six of a Kind, which is actually at its best when W.C. Fields is polishing one of his pool-playing routines. I had never seen either of these television shows, but I was a fan of George Burns' and have been fortunate enough to hear old radio broadcasts of Burns and Allen at work as a team, so I was excited to get the chance to see recordings of their show. Unfortunately, even the outlandish repartee between George Burns and Gracie Allen could not save this DVD.
There are three episodes of the Burns and Allen Show and three episodes of Blondie on the DVD. From the menu, you can select the episode of your choice, or choose to watch the episodes of one or the other show in order. There are no extra features.
Neither show was much more than an overblown commercial for evaporated milk. Seriously. Each episode might consist of 5 minutes of total talk time that did not make mention of the grand...
