Review(s): DVD Intimacy (Unrated, Widescreen Edition)
Very enjoyable to watch
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. The sex scenes were some of the best I've seen because they were graphic yet very realistic. The story was touching and honest. If you're an adult who enjoys a realistic story that is very hot, you will definitely enjoy this gem. Watch and enjoy!
Interesting Role-Reversal
Basically, I think the underlying premise of this movie is pretty sad - that 2 people are having a secret rendevous to escape their mundane and pathetic lives and this 'rendevous' becomes their primary source of happiness. Yet this movie is fueled by great acting along with a musical score that really compliments, and the cinematography is top notch. This unrated edition is much better than the heavily chopped edition I recently saw on cable. For any woman ever dumped by a man, this is a MUST-SEE!
Muslim reviews English people.
I thought that this comes out as a movie by a Muslim considering the ways of the West and finding them bitter sweet at best. Women often try to take on an additional man to prove to themselves that the ennui that they feel at home is not their fault alone. What happens is that they need a theory of life in a religiously, socially or nationally approved set of rules and management details. Without such a code we find out that the men get along better without the women around save that they are vile and know that something is missing. The take on feminism is that British men can't bear the responsibilities that women regularly carry out in respecting the spouse's career. A woman has to be talented but a man can be just himself.
My suggestion to the characters would be a bit of humility and less rage about what they have little ability to change. They are both people of worth. Perhaps back to music for Jay to perform, manage or teach and perhaps writing or directing would suit Claire.

A love letter to movies (and the French new wave of the 1960s in particular), Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers starts with a 1968 riot outside of a Parisian movie palace then burrows into an insular love triangle. Matthew (Michael Pitt, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), an expatriate American student, bonds with a twin brother and sister, Isabelle (Eva Green) and Theo (Louis Garrel), over their mutual love of film--they not only quote lines of dialogue, they act out small bits and challenge each other to name the cinematic source. Matthew suspects the twins of incest, but that doesn't stop him from falling into his own intimacies with Isabelle. As the threesome becomes threatened, Paris succumbs to student riots. The Dreamers aspires to be kinky, but the results are more... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Bernardo Bertolucci DVD Release Date: Released the 13 July 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours

In terms of alluring female nudity, Swimming Pool shows a lot, but it's what remains concealed that gives this erotic thriller a potent, voyeuristic charge. With his Hitchcockian handling of secrets and lies, prolific French director François Ozon reunites with his Under the Sand star, Charlotte Rampling, to tell a seductive tale of murder and complicity, beginning when British mystery novelist Sarah Morton (Rampling) seeks peace and relaxation at her publisher's French villa, only to find his brash, sexually liberated daughter Julie (Ludivine Sagnier) arriving shortly thereafter to disrupt her solitary reverie. What begins as mutual annoyance turns into something more sinister and duplicitous, alternating between Julie's predatory sex with men and Sarah's observant,... I suppose it is theoretically possibly that a viewer could be "shocked" or "enthralled" by this movie if they had never seen anything outside the Hollywood movie and certainly no previous Catherine Breillat movies. But even then, I am skeptical.
This movie is boring, and it has a "been there, done that" feel from Breillat. This movie's problems are indicative of what I feel is the larger problem plaguing "art house" cinema the last couple of years. They have become as formulaic and thoughtlessly perfunctory as your most paint-by-numbers Hollywood romantic comedy. Too many movies that are supposed to be providing intelligent and thought-provoking alternatives to what elitists call "The Hollywood swill" are not doing that. Instead, the art house formula has grown distressingly... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Catherine Breillat DVD Release Date: Released the 25 January 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

I enjoy a good erotic film as much as anybody, and as a producer of some very erotic fare, I especially respect anyone who wants to make an erotic movie -- but the subject matter of teen sexuality was too much for even me! I don't know how they can even get away with selling this movie in the states. This one goes a little too far.
