Fools Rush Into Greek Wedding...NOT!!!
If you loved the Movie My Greek Wedding...Or Where Fools Rush in then you will be bitterly disapointed with this movie!!! Does this mean Loco Love was a terrible movie...not hardly the potential was there. The plot as the other movies have demonstrated was a potential five the execution was a one...leaving me mathmatically speaking with a three for nice try... The actors did a great job with a very mediorce script and I don't think you will be upset that you rented it...but I am sure you will be glad that you did not take your date to the movies to see this one because it does sort of leave you flat...
Better than expected
To be honest I never expected much out of Loco Love when I picked it up on the video store shelf. The only reason I rented it in the first place was because it starred Laura Harring whom I've been a big fan of ever since I saw Mulholland Drive. I put it into the DVD player and was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed the film. While it does have some glaring problems, most blatantly the fact that it was probably very low budget and it seemed as if the movie had been made for television. The fact is the movie entertained me much more so than most of the romantic comedies being pushed onto the big screen by the studios. If I had a choice I would rent this again before watching Maid In Manhattan or the Wedding Planner again. Both big Hollywood hits. Loco Love's plot is simply enough. A well to do man gets dumped by his cheating wife who digs the knife deeper by taking his restaurant he manages from him in the divorce. meanwhile his Mexican gardener has just won 62 million in the lottery and is desperate to bring his sister(Laura Harring) up from Mexico. He makes a deal with the man that if he marries his sister so she can get a green card he will buy him a new restaurant. The only problem is his sister is rather tempered and the two instantly clash. It's no surprise that the two actually end up falling in love and the ending is predictable but the way the audience is led to the ending is what makes this film so much fun. For those of you wanting to see something new that you might have missed without 50 million on advertising I would check out this movie.
Anyone who's lived in an apartment will understand the mounting frustration of Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore as they grapple with the upstairs neighbor of their worst nightmares in Duplex, directed by Danny DeVito. Stiller and Barrymore play a young couple who think they've found the home of their dreams when they buy an astonishingly spacious Brooklyn duplex. Unfortunately, the second floor comes with a tenant, a seemingly sweet little old lady (Eileen Essell). Her petty demands and manipulative ways drive Stiller and Barrymore to desperate attempts to oust her--and when she breezily resists their worst efforts, the hapless pair begin to consider more serious (and final) measures. Duplex might be called a comedy of anxiety; it constantly pricks at your expectations of... A sleek George Clooney and a seductive Catherine Zeta-Jones square off magnificently in the divorce comedy Intolerable Cruelty. The plot is simple: Lawyer supreme Miles Massey (Clooney, Out of Sight, Ocean's Eleven) skillfully outmaneuvers gold-digger Marylin Rexroth (Zeta-Jones, Chicago, Traffic) when she divorces her wealthy husband--and she sets out to get revenge. But this movie comes from the creative minds of the Coen Brothers (Fargo, Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou?), and so Intolerable Cruelty includes a Scottish wedding chapel in Vegas, an asthmatic hit man, fluffy-dog-stroking European nobility, and a legendarily unbreakable pre-nuptial agreement. Still, it's pretty restrained for the Coens; smooth and... Marking a welcome return to the breezy style of Thelma & Louise, Ridley Scott's Matchstick Men reminds us that the director of Gladiator is equally adept with quirky comedies and offbeat characters. Smoothly adapted from the novel by Eric Garcia and set amidst the sunlit, 1950s-style architecture of L.A.'s San Fernando Valley, this gently dramatic comedy centers on Roy (Nicolas Cage), a divorcée whose career as a con artist is complicated by: (1) his ongoing struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder, which manifests itself through various quirks and rituals; (2) a wily partner (Sam Rockwell) whose criminal ambitions are greater than Roy suspects; and (3) the arrival of 14-year-old Angela (Alison Lohman), claiming to be the daughter he's never known. Turns out... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): Nicolas Cage - Sam Rockwell - Alison Lohman Director(s): Ridley Scott DVD Release Date: Released the 01 June 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours

Partly inspired by 1948's The Big Clock and its nominal 1987 remake No Way Out, the Denzel Washington thriller Out of Time is quite enjoyable if you ignore its implausible plotting. Like those earlier films, this reunion of Washington and his Devil in a Blue Dress director Carl Franklin is about a man--in this case the police chief (Washington) of sleepy Banyan Key, Florida--who falls into a trap set by others, sinks into legal quicksand of his own making, and must race the clock to extricate himself from a series of incriminating setbacks. The Florida setting adds welcome character to the potboiler plot, and Washington's screen-cred makes it easy to overlook the absurdities of rookie writer David Collard's screenplay. Eva Mendes is sharp and sensible as... For perhaps the first time in her career, Kate Hudson doesn't just imitate the twinkle of her mother, Goldie Hawn--and proves to be a winning romantic lead in her own right. Hudson plays Emma, a stenographer hired by a desperate writer named Alex (Luke Wilson, The Royal Tenenbaums, Legally Blonde), who has to finish a book in 30 days. Of course, a tentative romance blooms between them; but as Alex begins to interweave elements of his life into the love triangle of his novel--including a suspiciously Emma-esque character named Anna--Emma wonders if the novel's sexy other woman has a real-life counterpart as well. Though Alex & Emma suffers from some bland, formulaic elements, it also features flashes of engaging wit. Hudson dampens her gleam, but because she's not...
