Very cute Light hearted drama/comedy. Frannie returns home to the town of Silk Hope in one of the Carolinas after her dissapearing to god knows where for three months or so, she finds that things have changed; Her mom has passed away, Her sister wants to sell the House and Farm in which she has grown up on. Frannie realizes that she needs to "TRY" and become a responsible person so that she can buy out her sister's half of the house and Farm because she feels it should remain in the family. The comedy in this movie is that Frannie has a very hard time trying to remain focused on being responsible. Also Frannie for the first time finds herself falling in love, also decides on a whim to pig farm, and in the meanwhile she tries scaring away potential buyers of her land. I think Farrah shines in this movie. By the end of the movie Frannie is not the only person who grows up, Each character involved receives a positive impact set by Frannie's will and determination. Great Picture Quality DVD. No extras, just Scene index and Play. (this was a television movie, so therefore only in Full Screen). Enjoy!! :)
Charlie's Angels: The Complete Second Season has no shortage of the good-natured cheese and eye candy that made the primetime television show's debut season wildly popular in 1976. The Angels had a new look in their second year: Farrah Fawcett, arguably the most popular of the show's three actresses, departed before the sophomore season and was replaced by another blonde dazzler, Cheryl Ladd. (Ladd's character, Kris Munroe, was the younger sister of Fawcett's Jill Munroe, whose exit is explained in the premiere episode as a liberated woman's career move: Jill has decided to race cars in Spain.)
No sooner does Kris settle in than a crisis sweeps through off-screen Charlie's private investigation agency. While cavorting on Oahu in the two-part "Angels in Paradise," Charlie is... We can safely call it one of the most notorious films in Hollywood history: Myra Breckenridge, the wild, tasteless, legendary disaster. Sprung from a novel by Gore Vidal, Myra tells the tender tale of a man (damply played by film critic Rex Reed) who has a sex-change operation and goes to Hollywood as a woman--played by Raquel Welch. Mae West creaked out of retirement to play a man-hungry agent (one of her meals is young Tom Selleck), and John Huston is an aging cowboy star, Myra's nemesis. To say the movie endorses the destruction of sex roles in modern society would be giving the rampant incoherence too much credit. Old film clips, plus footage (all too apt!) of atomic bomb tests are spliced into the action, to puerile effect. Almost everybody involved with the film... It's a pity that movies like these are not getting better treatment by the distributors. Case in fact, are the problems encountered by those people who first bought this dvd. But surprise, surprise!, same thing happened here in Australia when the movie was first shown on FOXTel cable last year.
The distributors or whoever did the ad/guide layout didn't even bother to mention the names of the two lead stars, namely Jaclyn Smith and Tim Matheson. Instead, they used the names of those two unknown supporting actors (!?). If you don't know anything about the film, you'll definetely missed it.
Anyway, I really like this film. It's so romantic, and so sweet and the performance are absolutely fabulous. Smith and Matheson are so beautiful together. They should actually... Mixed reviews usually mean that a movie, book or CD is worth investigating. This movie is worth checking out. The hero actually is nice and the heroine has a lot to think about. She is engaged to someone whom her upper-crust family expects her to marry. However, when she meets the hero, she realizes that she doesn't love her fiance nor does she marry him. There is a twist after the heroine breaks the engagement. This movie's plot is predictable in some ways just like any other, but some of the characters are not. It's setting is international and it has a delightful edginess. What I like about this movie, also, is that the characters could be for real and not just some body that looks good on screen. They are not Hollywood's ideal for movies. One can really identify and empathize with... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Bobby Roth DVD Release Date: Released the 25 November 2003 Special Order

This film is not known as widely as some of the other films based on the novels of Danielle Steel most likely because it was not shown on commerical TV. Released in 1983, this film is rated PG-13 due to the subject matter (rape). I originally read the book when it first came out years ago and loved it! The film is very faithful to the novel. Cheryl Ladd is beautiful as ever and does a fantastic job portraying the 'wronged wife'- This is one of the darker stories by Danielle Steel, but does have the romantic story line that she is famous for. I would highly recommend this movie for the adult viewer. More Info about this DVD DVD Release Date: Released the 30 November 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours
