  • DVD Sinbad - Legend of the Seven Seas (Widescreen Edition)

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, an animated adventure from the DreamWorks studio, has little connection to the original fables from the Arabian Nights, but it's an entertaining romp nonetheless. Sinbad (voiced by the midwest vowels of Brad Pitt) gets commissioned by the wicked goddess Eris (Michelle Pfeiffer) to steal a magical book called the Book of Peace from the city of Syracuse--but the prince of Syracuse turns out to be a childhood friend of Sinbad's. So Eris steals the book herself and frames Sinbad, making the hero sail to the edge of the world to get it back, accompanied by Marina (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a woman he's secretly loved for years. The movie skillfully blends hand-drawn and computer images. The storyline is surprisingly well-constructed and actually has some thoughts about friendship and personal fiber, while providing all the swashbuckling, derring-do, and cliffhangers you could want. --Bret Fetzer

Sinbad - Legend of the Seven Seas (Widescreen Edition)

Ideal for the entire family. While my 5 and 7 year old daughters were absolutely captivated in the swashbuckling action and romance, I myself sat through the entire movie. Great way to enrich children with the classics with which we as parents grew up watching.

Excellent in Animation, Excellent in Accurate Scenario and Character Developement, But Dissapointing in Concept!

This is one of the best animated features I've seen in years. I really didn't like same features from Dream works like "Prince of Egypt" but Sinbad was different. thank god it was not a musical feature, I have no problem with musical animations but Dream Works has proved that it's not good in musical features. The story was excellent and very accurate too and made this movie suitable for adults either but movie had a great flaw in concept!
A friend, make his life a collateral for his best Innocent friend's endangered life. That innocent friend is now free to go and get back the stolen subject. He can run away or try to get back the stolen subject, and it seems that he chooses the first choice. Running away!
First friend's brave fiance go with second friend to be sure that he will not run away. everthing is allright till now...
but... in the middle of journey, Sinbad says some romantic words to marina and tries to make love to her. this is a treason to his friend. First he didn't want to go to tartarous and get back the book and marina forced her. second, he tried to make love to marina, his best friend's fiance. and enforce her feelings stronger which ended to love! so, what kind of hero could he be? I think such movie has no good lessons for younger audience! If they make cartoons for adults, that's not important what they make but for children they should try to picture real heroes not a thief and traitor! and that's why I rate this cartoon as 3 stars!

This is better then any 3D animated movie

The animation is good especially when Sinbad and his crew were on top of that big wail standing on it's eye. Brad Pit voices Sinbad, Catherine Zeta Jones voices Marina a woman Sinbad love for years their are times when they can't get alone he got mad that she didn't stear the ship right they were throwing mud at each other.

    Treasure Planet DVD

This kid-friendly disc serves as an advance for the DVD release of Disney's Treasure Planet feature, while emphasizing the story's roots in the written word. The main attraction is the movie's story, which can be read aloud in five different languages while viewers watch successive, still images from the original animated film. Sound strange? Sure, but the process is engrossing for children--a natural audience for storytelling. Also on board is a multilingual vocabulary experience, in which you can hear words associated with Treasure Planet's story (e.g., "chest") in Spanish, Italian, French, etc. Two songs from the film, written and performed by Goo Goo Dolls icon John Rzeznik, also get the image-by-image treatment, though the disc also includes a powerful, ghostly... Atlantis - The Lost Empire DVD

The Disney Studio was built on innovation in animation, so it seems ironic that Atlantis is both a bold departure and highly derivative, borrowing heavily from anime, video games, and graphic novels. Instead of songs and fuzzy little animals, the artists offer an action-adventure set in 1914: nerdy linguist Milo Thatch (Michael J. Fox) believes he's found the location of the legendary Lost Continent. An eccentric zillionaire sends Milo out to test his hypothesis with an anachronistic crew that includes tough Puerto Rican mechanic Audrey (Jacqueline Obradors), demolition expert Vinnie (Don Novello), and butt-kicking blond adventurer Helga (Claudia Christian). When they find Atlantis, its culture is dying because the people can no longer read the runes that explain their mysterious... More Info about this DVD

Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron (Full Screen Edition) DVD

I went to see this movie with my two friends becuase we are animal lovers, and we really love horses. I expected the movie to be cute, but more of a kid's movie; I was wrong! This is NOT just another kiddie animation flick. In fact, there was a little girl in the seat next to me who was probably 3 years old, and throughout the entire movie, all she did was ask her grandmother tons and TONS of questions. I doubt that she truely understood even a fourth of the movie. I also heard some kids crying throughout it, like they wanted to go home. But my friends and I LOVED it! Spirit has gorgeous animation, great characters, great plot, and wonderful music. In fact, I own the soundtrack, and am listening to is as I type this. One thing I especially liked, and was EXTREMELY greatful for, about... More Info about this DVD

    Shark Tale (Widescreen Edition) DVD

When a shark accidentally clobbers himself, a small fish named Oscar (voiced by Will Smith, I, Robot) just happens to be around, prompting everyone to believe that he killed the shark himself. This lie soon makes Oscar a celebrity, worshipped by the general mass of fish, wooed by a glittering golddigger (Angelina Jolie, Girl, Interrupted), missed by his best friend (Renee Zellweger, Cold Mountain)--and hunted by the godfather of great whites (Robert De Niro, Goodfellas). Can a vegetarian shark named Lenny (Jack Black, School of Rock) get Oscar out of this mess? The formulaic story of Shark Tale never reaches the giddy heights of Pixar's output (Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., Toy Story) or the freewheeling comedy of Shrek,... More Info about this DVD
