Like any movie on the sci fi channel this movie is slow. Lambert is his usual professional self playing his part well but this movie gets its 3 stars for the looks of model Kelly Brook.

The production design leaves a lot to the imagination. I don't care how low their budget was...they could have made it look better. It looks like they spent half their budget on a special effects shotin the beginning and a 3-D biohazard symbol in the opening credits. They would have been better off spending their money on better sets.
The dialogue is full of wimpy clichés, and all of the acting is dry. Sadly, though, the dialogue is slightly less boring than the action scenes.
This is the worst movie Christopher Lambert has been in since Highlander 2: The Quickening.
I guess if you want to watch a stupid movie just to laugh at, you could go with this one.

Just enough of Michael Crichton's novel survives in Timeline to make it a passable popcorn thriller. It's likely that Crichton fans will lament the shallowness of director Richard Donner's film, and its gee-whiz style of acting lays waste to any scientific credibility that Crichton's scenario might have retained. An amusing crime-based comedy that runs the gauntlet of robbery, murder, blackmail, and a surprisingly amusing phonesex moment. The acting is wonderfully done, one the best roles I believe Abe Vigoda has been offered.
Gérard Depardieu, Harvey Keitel, and Renaud pull off their characters flawlessly, which is saying something because they're dark characters that are injecting some serious comedy.
Professional wrestling star the Rock, who was such a lump of flesh in The Scorpion King, proves surprisingly light on his feet in The Rundown, demonstrating charm and humor as well as the requisite toughness. Beck (the Rock), a repo-man for deadbeats, is sent to South America to find a treasure hunter (Seann William Scott) who's seeking a priceless golden idol--which the local head honcho (Christopher Walken) would like to get his hands on as well. Writer-director Brian Helgeland tried something different with The Order, and surely that counts for something.
