cream of the crop
This is top-line sketch comedy, far superior to anything currently being produced on any channel. Yet it's been almost 2 years since the first season was released on DVD. WHAT'S THE HOLDUP, COMEDY CENTRAL? Release the second season, and we will buy it. Got that?
Give us seasons 2 & 3 NOW!
I too am here to say that Comedy Central must put out the other seasons. I have watched this DVD at least a hundred times since I got it two summers ago, and have got many other people into it. Seriously, release the other seasons.

I almost had her face tattooed on my body. My sister and I quote it like bible verses. The line about " How many of you want to wake up in a public bathroom lying in s pool of what you HOPE is your own filth" is on my phone. Devotion, or obsession? I do not know but what I do know is this is Hilarious!
It's ridiculous but smart at the same time. My friend borrowed all three seasons from me one time and I got panicky.(Now he has my Arrested Development dvd and I feel that way again). Everyone I force to watch loves it...well all except one person. I won't mention her name, but we will never look at Liane the same way again.
Anyway if you have seen an episode or two on comedy central and trying to figure out which season to buy, Season One is my personal fav. Of course you'll... but these episodes just aren't as strong. I only vaguely remember seeing these on Comedy Central, probably because they are aired less than the previous seasons.
Laughed more at the Chapelle "quickie" sketch included on Disc One than all the episodes combined on said disc.
Season Two is a glorious revelation from the Gods of Comedy and features such wiley moments (often musical) such as Noblett singing 80s power rock ballads and yellow-clad cult members of the Safe Trap House joyously chanting, "I'm gonna sit at the Welcome Table, Hallelujah!", but unfortunately Season Two is missing a bit of that life-altering je ne sais quoi of the first. Guy, Jerri's actively catatonic father, is dead by episode three to be replaced by a weakened rendition of the old favorite, Stu, the Meat Guy. The sexual tension between Noblett and Jellineck has fizzled.
Season 4 of HBO's Mr. Show is particularly strong, with a number of original ideas and exceptionally funny sketches scattered over all 10 episodes. Stars Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are in good form from the season premiere's opening bit about medical marijuana--specifically, Cross's prescription to help him with the anxiety of working with Odenkirk. The duo also work a comic rivalry theme in a dueling bloopers sketch that includes "embarrassing" footage of Odenkirk as a male prostitute and Cross as a wannabe rock star.
But the best material is positively surreal, such as a Jerry Springer-like talk show taking place on a life raft, and a variation on The Paper Chase in which a curmudgeonly law professor (Michael McKean), suddenly called away from class after a... Hey, everybody, it's Bob and David on DVD! In 1995 comics Bob Odenkirk and David Cross were simply "two people you've never seen before." Since then, each has insidiously entered the mainstream with appearances on TV (Just Shoot Me, The Drew Carey Show) and movies (Scary Movie 2, Dr. Dolittle 2, Men in Black 2). But to quote Odenkirk's bio (which is included on the first disc), Mr. Show is the thing you should see if you want to check them out. Like the late, lamented The Ben Stiller Show, on which both toiled, and Monty Python before that, this midnight-hour HBO series gave a subversive twist to the traditional sketch comedy series. Classic characters include Cross's white-trash poster boy Ronnie Dobbs, the superstar arrestee on a...
