Arson, cake and bruises...love stories don't get any better.

What is true love? What is divine passion? Values will be readjusted by a cast of delightfully quirky characters in one very odd love story. Sergio, a baker's assistant played to perfection by John Leguizamo, works for Mr. Linzer (Armin Mueller-Stahl), who is coming upon hard times. A fire set in the bakery has police suspecting the assistant, which upsets his love Hattie (Sadie Frost). Also a suspect is the bakery owner, until his wife rushes into the fray to claim responsibility in order to be with her husband in jail. Erika Eleniak and William Baldwin are psychotic twenty-somethings who fit into this puzzle as an at-odds couple. Sparks begin to fly in more than the bakery, however, when the younger couples get mixed up. A must see for any fan of the quirky, oddball or offbeat flick.

    Deceived DVD

I saw this at Movie Trading Company for $3.99 and on sale for $1.99. So I went on a big limd and bought it. I wasn't that suprised about it, it wasn't that good. Goldie Hawn did a pretty good job. The actor for the husband was a little pradictable. The ending was a suprise, but all in all a pretty good movie. More Info about this DVD

    Father Hood DVD

Patrick Swayze is a goofball criminal who suddenly finds himself strapped with his two kids. His teenage daughter escapes from an abusive orphanage, demanding her father rescue her younger brother. Dad, who may be a thief, is also a softie who decides to rescue his kids by kidnapping them from a school bus. The plot is lackluster and reveals few surprises as Swayze tries to follow his life of crime, only to be thwarted by his needy children. Child abuse, parental abandonment, and crime do not exactly make for slapstick, and this is too leaden to thrill as an adventure flick. Swayze, with his annoying laugh and manic mannerisms, is less convincing than the kids (Sabrina Lloyd and Brian Bonsall), who exude realistic desperation and pain. --Rochelle O'Gorman More Info about this DVD

    Noises Off... DVD

Curtain's up, light goes down, everyone goes quiet, and... The director leaves the building. This is pretty much the happinings at any drama production. Rehearsals, dress rehearsals, tech rehearsals everytime it goes terribly down hill. Actors get on each other's nerves, and the little vains in the forehead of the director begin to show. This is such a comical screenplay greet on film or on the stage I captures everything. And any performer knows that a terrible upcoming of a play 99.9% of the time results with a perfect opening big opening production. This shows the down fall of every show and it gets worst each time.
A must see for everyone. A plus is that Christopher Revees and John Ritter are in this one too.
Enjoy! More Info about this DVD

In the Cut (Unrated and Uncut Director's Edition) DVD

Based on Susanna Moore's popular novel, In the Cut centers on Frannie (Meg Ryan), an emotionally stifled English teacher who gets steamy with sultry Malloy (Mark Ruffalo, You Can Count On Me), a cop who's investigating a series of brutal murders--but Frannie soon suspects that Malloy may be the killer. As a psychological thriller, In the Cut is heavier on psychology than thrills; the story is a skeleton that director Jane Campion (The Piano, An Angel at My Table) cloaks in one of the most nightmarish visions of urban life since Taxi Driver or Seven, accompanied by lots of explicit sex. The movie's dark tone will put some viewers off, but Ruffalo's effortless magnetism serves him well; no woman in the audience will question how quickly Ryan... More Info about this DVD

    Matchstick Men (Widescreen Edition) DVD

Marking a welcome return to the breezy style of Thelma & Louise, Ridley Scott's Matchstick Men reminds us that the director of Gladiator is equally adept with quirky comedies and offbeat characters. Smoothly adapted from the novel by Eric Garcia and set amidst the sunlit, 1950s-style architecture of L.A.'s San Fernando Valley, this gently dramatic comedy centers on Roy (Nicolas Cage), a divorcée whose career as a con artist is complicated by: (1) his ongoing struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder, which manifests itself through various quirks and rituals; (2) a wily partner (Sam Rockwell) whose criminal ambitions are greater than Roy suspects; and (3) the arrival of 14-year-old Angela (Alison Lohman), claiming to be the daughter he's never known.
