This was a surprisingly good movie, with descent acting,a great plot, and an equally satisfying lead actress. Linda Blair stars as Brenda in this motion picture and adds a lot to the movie as well as the role. In the end, all i can say is that you should give this movie a chance, like i did. No one mentions the other inmates of the juvenile asylum, but the young actresses playing Denny and Moco are scarily effective, and Tina Andrews, the young girl playing Josie(who can also be seen as one of Marcia Brady's school-friends in the 'Davy Jones' episode on 'The Brady Bunch' as well as a student in 'Conrack'), gives a tightly-controlled performance; when her mother comes for a visit, Josie cries, mocking her: 'When ya comin' home? I miss you, Josie'." That's good acting. As for Linda Blair: she's always reliable and solid, but here it takes her a little while to warm up. In the admissions office near the beginning, Linda is a bit too somnambulistic("I don't think I need to be here"), but minutes later, when she has discovered her father brought her suitcase from home, Linda gets... Though it wasn't Hammer Studios' final film, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell can be considered its swan song, an intelligent, inventive, stylized reworking of the themes that had sustained the series for almost two decades. Dr. Frankenstein has buried his old identity and reigns over an insane asylum as Dr. Victor (Peter Cushing under a flamboyant blond wig in his sixth and final turn as the mad scientist) as if it were a live-parts yard for his continuing experiments. With the help of an ambitious acolyte he builds his latest creature, a hirsute apelike brute stitched together from the asylum's most promising inhabitants and turned into a sad, tortured slave. The film was shot at the end of Hammer's glory days, and the budgetary constraints can be seen in... Even if you're not one of those who can appreciate the underrated talent of real-life pals Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, you really need to see this movie. If you're a female, you'll want to see it just to see Corey Haim bare it all. If you're a male, well..a heterosexual male..you really need to see this movie. Nicole Eggert, the already gorgeous blonde we all adored from "Baywatch" and "Charles in Charge" is unveiled in all her natural glory in this magnificent piece of Hollywood history. Dont get me wrong, the story is decent as well, and really does justice to showing how maliciously callous some women can be...and as a result, how painful love can feel.
