Like any IMAX movie, Coral Reef Adventure is so vivid, vast, and colorful that you can't help but be astonished by its visual splendor. Great pictures from the reefs and even more amazing flying scenes, looks great on my Westinghouse 42" LCD and upconverting DVD player, or even better when I play the second DVD from my PC to that screen. The bad thing: if you copy the file from the DVD to your local PC or laptop, it won't play unless you have that very DVD in. I paid for the DVD, so shouldn't I have the file at my discretion instead of having to carry the DVD all the time?
Spectacular
This documentary is an excellent introduction to coral reefs and the underwater ecosystems that they inhabit. You will see their resiliency to outside forces as well as how vulnerable they are to those same forces. This DVD is loaded with stunning visuals which are only limited by the equipment you use to view them. Liam Niesen narrates while songs and adapted songs from Crosby Stills and Nash accompany it.
It was a great way to see how outside environmental factors affect ecosystems in a tangible manner. Rather than citing lots of meaningless statistics, you get to see what can actually happen when humans abuse the earth instead of living with it responsibly.

Believe it or not, an IMAX film can make the transition to video perfectly well. It might not be three stories tall, but Dolphins is still a lovely, larger-than-life exploration of these strangely intelligent creatures. Visit the Bahamas, Argentina, and beyond to see different varieties (like the graceful duskies) play and hunt.
