| Great scenes, limited sound, limited time. |
This is a great DVD, beautiful scenes in hi-res but the sound disappointed me. The editors could have done a better job and avoided repetitive sounds like the same bird chirps over and over again. Besides that, the video only lasts 40 minutes.

| Inpsired me to travel to Bora Bora again | |
I have been around the world 10 times searching for the most breathtaking islands in the world. I found many on my travels and this DVD reminded me of just how stunning Bora Bora truly is. There is no other island like it in the world. The shots were outstanding. The sounds of nature were very clear and relaxing and I appreciate how many different scenes were included. From the lush green mountains, to the blinding white sandy beaches, the rain drops falling on tropical foliage to the turtles swimming across the screen. WELL DONE!!
It's obvious that the people who made this DVD spent a lot of time in Bora Bora capturing its beauty and truly wanted to share its magnificence with others.

| Great Images, Somewhat Short, Sound is Ok |
As other reviews have said, this is a DVD of 40 minutes of scenes around Bora Bora, from the beaches to the motus, to the mountain scapes to turtles and rays in clear water, waters, etc.
I examined the DVD and saw that it was consuming about 6GB of space on the DVD, even though the video footage is only 40 minutes. This seems to indicate that there's very little mpeg compression (which is an amazingly good thing). Normally, I see 2 hours of footage on 4GB of space for regular movies, just to compare. So with only 40 minutes on 6GB, I couldn't notice any compression artifacts on my traditional CRT tube 32" monitor. I would love to see this on a widescreen HDTV monitor, especially since the images are in 16x9 widescreen format.
The sound is ok - there's a lot of background noise of the waves crashing on the reefs. This is all natural sound, but I wish they could've mixed the sound a bit better and tweaked the constant background noise turned down so that we can clearly hear the occassional bird chirps, or the sound of the waves lapping on the beach. This is my minor gripe with the DVD (and thus the 4 stars).
Also, there are some great footage, but each footage only lasts about 15 seconds, which is short. The producers could've made each footage last a little bit longer and made the video maybe an hour instead of 40 minutes. I mean, this is supposed to be a relaxing video, not a video for people with hair-trigger short attention spans, right? That's my other minor gripe.
Otherwise, this is a great DVD to show off your monitor. If I get my own widescreen HDTV monitor, this will be the first DVD that I'll pop in my player, at least for the visuals but maybe not for the sound.
