One of the Classic Cartoons of My Generation!
I remember watching Heathcliff every day when I was little. The memories are flooding! I am so exited to see that it was released on DVD. They are also releasing classics like Inspector Gadget (another favorite!) and Care Bears (which has already been released). These will be a part of my collection forever!
This Heathcliff marathon is not so much a full-length movie as it is a "best of" collection of seven short tales woven together in a continuous story, featuring the vocal talents of the late, legendary Mel Blanc (Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, et al.). The story opens on a rainy day as Uncle Heathcliff babysits his nephews. Opening his photo album, he recounts past adventures, quickly introducing the vintage episodes that fans will relish. In one tale, Heathcliff's pop gets parole, although Heathcliff thinks he's escaped; in another, Heathcliff's "good angel" conscience makes a short-lived appeal to his saintly side. Couldn't ask for a better video for the price! My 4 kids have fallen in love with Inspector Gadget. Current programming on TV has to be screened so heavily to determine its suitability for kids; it's great to see a good show that's just plain fun. The transfer to DVD is handled well. The first episode with Inspector Gadget with a mustache is hilarious. The others are well-chosen, and my children are begging to watch the DVD all the time. I love the littles and I was so excited when I saw this Christmas edition. There is snow in one episode but nothing has to do with Christmas!! Nothing! I was so disappointed. The episodes were good but please don't expect this to have ANYTHING to do Christmas. Other than that the episodes were good, just like I remembered!!
