I'm 21 and I still love this show. I think it is a lot more intellegent than a lot of other shows geared towards teens these days. The reviewer who made the comment about the blonde girl always getting the cute guy, obviously they haven't even watched the series. Lizzie's central theme is about friendship and family, NOT about getting the guy. In fact, Lizzie never "gets the guy", so to speak. And the main male character in the show isn't the "cute" one. He's the nerdy, smart one. Lizzie is also not the popular girl, her and her friends get a lot of grief from the popular crowd, and this show has much better character development and depth to it than any other Disney "teen" series I have seen. Lizzie McGuire, played by Teen Choice award-winning Hilary Duff, is a winsome eighth grader with a unique sense of style and burning desire to be popular--a condition that resonates with pre-teens everywhere. This quartet of episodes from the television series (which inspired the feature film) finds Lizzie climbing to a new pinnacle of popularity. When Lizzie signs a modeling contract with Teen Attitude Magazine, she gains instant popularity at the expense of true friendship. In the second episode, desperation over an upcoming vote for "best dressed" tempts Lizzie to lie and outspend her budget in the quest for notoriety. Meanwhile, Lizzie's brother Matt becomes a prisoner of his own instant fame. Lizzie takes being a role model a bit too far in the third episode and almost... This is an awesome boxed set of the first 22(!) episodes of the hit Lizzie McGuire tv series! None of the episodes are bad, all of them are enjoyable and will make you laugh! The greatest episodes include "Picture Day", "Night of the Day of the Dead", "Rated Arrgh!", "Lizzie Strikes Out", and "I Do, I Don't." All the other episodes are awesome also! These episodes had a lot of special guest stars like Aaron Carter, David Carridane, Phil Lewis, Orlando Brown, Kayla Pratt, and Craig Anton (or Antonan, whatever, the dad in Phil of the Future). Each of the cast members pulls off their character fantastically! Matt, Lanny, and Melina make me laugh, I want to hurt Kate, and Lizzie and Miranda and Gordo and Ethan have great roles and real funny lines! I love the laughs when the parents try to... If you are one of Hilary Duff's most ardent pre-teen fans, chances are you'll find something to enjoy in A Cinderella Story, but everyone else should proceed with caution. It's an updated fairy tale for the age of instant messaging, which is how Sam (Duff) develops a crush on Austin (Chad Michael Murray) before realizing that this Tennyson-quoting poet-at-heart is actually her San Fernando Valley high school's star quarterback and most desirable hunk. In a role that squanders her proven comedic gifts, Jennifer Coolidge is Sam's Botox-injected evil stepmother, and lame attempts at comedy turn her dimwitted stepsisters into buffoons, like many of the other cast members who struggle to find anything funny in the screenplay. So we're left with the bland, blonde charms of Hilary... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Mark Rosman DVD Release Date: Released the 19 October 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours
