If you are lover of good mystery movies, you will enjoy this set. The disk sleeves not only tell you the title but a description of the movie. Truly a classic collection.
A Great Deal
I have limited TV entertainment at the moment so I'm watching my entertainment on DVD's. For the price which may have dropped some since I purchased this set, this is a great deal. I purchased this and several of the other 50 movie packs, and this one along with Dark Crimes seem to be my favorite. This one in particular on all the films I've watched so far are good prints. I watched the Drummond entries and I've got that curiosity out of my system (I wasn't missing much but I was very curious). There are some good entries here that I'll be watching soon like The Stranger, Suddenly, Detour, and also some good B entries for those curious to see Bulldog Drummond, Mr. Moto, Sherlock Holmes, and one I was really pleased with, Dick Tracy! Like I said of the films I've watched so far these prints are better than the other 50 packs I've seen and I also haven't noticed any Treeline stamps on the prints like I've seen on other 50 pack's. You could easily pay 5 or more times the price to get all these public domain flicks in their smaller packages so its a great deal, Highly Recommended. 5/5

I was very disappointed in the product. For the most part, they were a very poor quality of recordings. I realized that they were old, but with the new computor knowledge that we have, I would have expected the DVD's to be better. I guess the only answer to this poor product, is I got what I purchased. A very poor product for Amazon to be selling.

This is not "50 Action Movies" as much as it is "50 Old Mostly Bad Movies We Had Laying Around and Thought We Could Package and Sell Somehow".
Still, many of these movies are unintentionally funny and make good MST3K fodder.
Some are unbelieveably surreal. Like "Funeral for an Assassin"" which is a South African movie in which we are expected to root for the Apartheid govt. I found myself hoping that the assassin would wipe out the entire South African Apatheid govt, but alas.......
Some are just plain awful. Like "Submarine Alert".
But there's an Ed Wood classic included..."Jail Bait". Always good for a laugh.

I own an outstanding '50 Mystery Classics' where almost every movies was watchable. By contrast, '50 Hollywood Legends' contains was below average collection of movies that I would not want to waste my time on. With the exception of 'The Joyless Street' with Garbo and 'Blood and Sand' with Valentino, I coonsider this a waste regardless of the attractive price. Not recommended. First of all I love grade B movies. I am very happy with this pack, The movies are all watchable quality wise. Many, many hours of old time entertainment here, takes me back to the day's of monster movie matinee.Pop some popcorn, sit back and enjoy. My mom and I bought this collection after buying the 50 Movie Pack Family Classics which we thought was pretty good.But this one was awful!There were only a few really good movies in it His Girl Friday,My Man Godfrey and Steamboat Bill,Jr the last one is a silent film by the way so in this case it did not matter that the film had rather poor sound quality.This however did affect the movie in the case of films such as His Girl Friday,where dialogue is so important,also this film had been cut and was missing a several minutes in different parts of the movie.Some of the silent films such as the ones in The Buster Keaton Festival and Buster Keaton Classics were HORRIBLY blury and I suspect they might have been cut.Many,true not ALL but a good many of the films here were pretty dull,or had...
