DVD Sesame Street - What's the Name of That Song
One electrifying hour of Sesame Street music and magic commemorates its 35th anniversary in this collection of 17 classic songs paired with a star-studded guest list. Superhero Grover provides the thematic storyline for musical merriment as he embarks on a mission to discover the "one special song the world can sing together." It's a difficult task since everyone in the Sesame Street cast has an opinion. Beginning with the opening number, "Sing" (which gives cameos to Ben Stiller, Conan O'Brien, the Dixie Chicks, and more), the tunes come in rapid succession along with the usual bantering and balderdash of Kermit, Oscar, and the gang. There is no shortage of hilarity, whether watching Wayne Brady sing "Between" sandwiched in the middle of Big Bird and Snuffy; or Queen Latifah belt a rap rendition of "That's the Letter O." It is no wonder that Sesame Street remains timeless with such servings of exquisite entertainment targeted at youngsters yet enjoyed by all. (Ages 3 to 8) --Lynn Gibson
Review(s): DVD Sesame Street - What's the Name of That Song
This thing rules.
My non-TV-watching children, ages 3 and 1, are always enthralled with this DVD. The songs are good and the entertainers are entertaining. I don't know if I can ever sing the alphabet song the old, boring, un-Ms. Patti way again. I enjoy it when I watch it with them, and I enjoy it when they watch it without me!
Seseme Street What's the name of that Song
This musical Seseme Street DVD captures my 10 month old's attention and keeps his interest through out the entire video. I am also drawn in by the variety of celebrity guest singers. I have been able to do so much around the house and we use this in the car when going on long trips. Thank you!!!
The best Sesame Street DVD we have!!!
My 16 month old daughter can't get enough of this DVD. I play this whenever we are in the car. Her favorite is Patty LaBelle's gospel alphabet. She gets so excited and claps to the music and raises her hands in the air. I've never seen her so happy as when this song comes on. She also loves "Eight balls of fur" and gets excited when the keys fly off of the piano! She's owned this DVD for a couple of months now and she gets mad if I try and play a different one. I highly recommend this DVD for your little Sesame Street junkie!!! My only complaint is the song by Queen Latifa. It is awful!!! But I just skip over that one.

Yes, Virginia, there was a Sesame Street before the Age of Elmo. This 1993 collection highlights the role of music in the long-running series from Children's Television Workshop, and reminds us that such Jim Henson creations as Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, and Ernie and Bert were once part of a true ensemble of Muppet superstars. Nothing against Elmo, of course: kids adore him and he makes enough appearances in this anthology (including the show-stopping "Happy Tappin' with Elmo") to keep today's tykes happy. Also included is Ernie's classic "Rubber Duckie" (really, who doesn't know the words to that?), Oscar's anthemic "I Love Trash," you-know-who's "C Is for Cookie," and Big Bird's Big Finale, a rendition of "Sing" that includes the entire cast. Kids' Favorite Songs kicks off with a cackle-worthy parody of Bob Dylan doing "Old McDonald," and from there the groovy gags keep comin' 'round the mountain. Everywhere Elmo turns on Sesame Street monsters spontaneously burst into song, and all because they want him to feature their favorite tunes on his forthcoming radio countdown. For Telly, winnowing the hits to one is akin to Cookie Monster choosing between a macaroon and a figgie bar: at first he's sure that "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" lights his fire, but then he says bye-bye to a black sheep. The street heaves a collective sigh pavementward when word comes down that the countdown is strictly a numbers gig, no music involved. Only Sesame Street could weave well-loved musical numbers around a simple numbers lesson with such... The Sesame Street character has fun singing some catchy new songs (you and your toddler just might, too), explaining the difference between light and heavy, having a laugh over pictures and numbers, and sharing the screen with a good-natured Whoopi Goldberg and Julia Roberts. Of the various Elmo videos, this one really does have the choicest material and stands up to repeat viewings--a big plus with little ones. --Tom KeoghMore Info about this DVD Director(s): Emily Squires DVD Release Date: Released the 30 October 2001 Usually ships in 24 hours

I had this on vhs when my now 13 and 16 year old were very small. They loved it. I can't tell you how many times a week this tape played. I still find myself singing some of the songs (although I had forgotten a lot of the words) After having my "change of life" baby last spring, I had hoped I could find this b/c it is a bit older. I was so excited I had. My first two loved it and I know this little guy will too. Join Ernie at The Furry Arms Hotel for a musical lesson in just how useful counting can be. When Ernie finds and returns a misplaced key, he uses his knowledge of numbers to return the key to the correct guest. As Ernie begins to learn about the hotel business, he finds many common situations in which counting is essential. Throughout the 30-minute video, Ernie and his friends help children learn to count from 1 to 20 with such songs as the jazzy "That's How the Numbers Go," an original version of the Chorus Line show tune "One," and "Rap Song #11." Favorite Sesame Street characters Elmo and The Count are joined by new characters including Ding the Dinger, a furry fellow with a bell on his head, and Benny, the bellboy that responds to Ding the Dinger's dings. ...
