Advantages of The Virgin Islands Beaches
I found this dvd as well as Bahamas Beaches a wonderful way to rest and relax. They made me feel like I was sitting on the waters edge. My husband who is an alzheimer patient found it very soothing and calming. It has become a special time in the day for him to just relax. I urge anyone to purchase these two DVD's - sit back and relax - and put yourself right there. If you can't get to these two places - this is the next best thing. Thank you so much to WAVES Virtual Vacations - you have been a great help to myself and my husband. Keep up the good work.
Best kept secret
I LOOOOVE this video. The quality of the images and the sound is simply amazing. I really feel like I am in the Virgin Islands when I watch it! I use it while I am walking on my treadmill and pretend I am walking on the beach. It makes my boring treadmill walk seem like paradise. I feel like I have stumbled onto a secret that the general public has not yet caught up to. These videos are truly "virtual vacations." So far, Virgin Island Beaches is my favorite! You won't be sorry!
Elegant Simplicity
Greg Voevodsky has delivered treasures (buried chests of gold doubloons?) in his series of Virtual Vacations. I'd searched in vain for faithful recordings of nature at her best until I encountered his work. VIRGIN ISLANDS contains no Muzac or classical or New Age background music to 'help'. Like all the other offerings, it is pristine in its desire to give you a set of well-chosen examples of why people rave about these locations. What you get is long still shots of white sand beaches merging with aquamarine waters overhung by palms and other lush tropical vegetation, and with it just the ambient sound of nature in that place. Being too long between real vacations, I was mesmerized by the languid waves and soothing sun. I felt like I could step through the screen and be there.The sense of immediacy and tangibility is amazing, like the filmaker's disciplined restraint. Valium sales will plummet! You only need buy Virtual Vacations once, and they are totally side effect free.

I just received the "Waves: The Best Caribbean Beaches" DVD in the mail today. I am extremely pleased with the visuals. The beaches and waves are very relaxing and soothing. I sat down and watched the whole thing on my widescreen TV as soon as I took the disc out of the media mailer. The visuals were spectacular! I only wish there was a function that splashed my feet whenever the waves lapped past the bottom of my TV screen!
Thank you Greg Voevodsky for producing such a wonderful DVD. I am really looking forward to the future HD Waves productions. I can only imagine how spectacular those will be. Keep up the great work!!!
Wow- I love coming home from work and putting in this DVD. It helps me wind down and get rid of all of the stress of the day. The images are so beautiful and clear, it reminds me the vacation I took in the Bahamas. What a wonderful way to enjoy an evening at home! This is a great DVD, beautiful scenes in hi-res but the sound disappointed me. The editors could have done a better job and avoided repetitive sounds like the same bird chirps over and over again. Besides that, the video only lasts 40 minutes.

I bought this video as it was highly recommended by a good friend of mine. My friend was right! "Soothing Waters - California and Oregon" contains scenes from many of the most beautiful places along the coast of these two states. Natural sounds of the pounding surf, birds and other animals, and even the wind, which a couple of other reviewers found disturbing, I enjoyed immensely as it gave me a feeling of actually being in these incredible places. All of the locations are captured beautifully on the video, but my personal favorites are the many long scenes of Point Lobos, as it holds many fond memories for me.
As I watch with my headset on to better hear the sounds, I am mesmerized and then completely relaxed, to the point of what I call "drifting," and a profound sense of peace...
