    Review(s): DVD Flashpoint
Flashpoint rare seen great movie with Treat Williams

William Tanner makes a very memorable and enjoyable flick with "Flashpoint". Good premise Treat Williams and Kris play two border portral guards going nowhere (like many in California). They soon uncover a buried dead body and jeep but next to that they find a bundle of cash. It turns out the cash was the loot of a former crook now dead.

Kristofferson's character wants to cash in the money and get the hell out of town but Williams characters wants to investigate why this sap got killed. LOL It's a little far fetch but the last half hour make up for it.

I loved another depiction of the FBI as the oorrupt greedy corporation they are especially with the guy from Robocop playing a crooked agent.

Treat Williams as Ernie Wyatt is terrific signifying a man who is at his wit ends in defending a system that really only helps
the powerful and rich. As a border portal guard, he takes an oath
to protect the innocent and weak like a cop, but Ernie learns
that life and law isn't fair especially with the dead body
he has found in the desert. Does he take the money and run?
Or does he find out what corrupted individuals did this and
    do the right thing?

    Tremendous performace by Williams.

Could have used more action but "Flashpoint" has good acting and a good soundtrack.

    Flashpoint Missed

This is one of those movies that do not make the hire wire when released, then seem to get missed over time. It is an interesting and compelling story of two Border Patrol agents who find a jeep buried in the Texas desert, which contains a dead man, a great deal of money and a sniper rifle. From then on, their lives change and rather than being the hunters, they realize they have become the hunted. But by whom? Assassination conspiracy buffs will find this a very interesting scenario.

Kris Kristofferson does an up to par, low key performance that suits the character of the weather-beaten agent and former Green Beret he plays. Treat Williams as the younger agent who still believes in "right" and "wrong" is excellent. Rip Torn is also great, as the sheriff and former Texas Ranger with a past.

A very good movie with a gutsy, real-life edge, without the glit, glimmer, computer graphics, and unnecessary violence that seem to be the "stars" of newer action movies. There is action and there is violence, but within the storyline, it is necessary.

A movie well worth the price of admission.

    Exciting Movie!

In this movie two Border Patrol officers (Treat Williams and Kris Kristofferson) find a jeep buried under sand. This jeep has
a high porered rifle and $800,000 in cash in it.When the government finds out about their find a massive drive is conducted to discard the evidence. The two Border Patrol agents
are forced to run for their lives. The agent played by Kristofferson is told the real story about the jeep.the rifle and the money. The truth is stunning. This is a very good movie
that is well worth watching. It will leave you wondering.

The Final Countdown (2-Disc Limited Special Edition) DVD

With a tantalizing "what-if?" scenario and a respectable cast of Hollywood veterans, The Final Countdown plays like a grand-scale episode of The Twilight Zone. It's really no more than that, and time-travel movies have grown far more sophisticated since this popular 1980 release, but there's still some life remaining in the movie's basic premise: What if a modern-era Navy aircraft carrier--in this case the real-life nuclear-powered U.S.S. Nimitz--was caught in an anomalous storm and thrust 40 years backwards in time to the eve of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor? Will the ship's commander (Kirk Douglas) interfere with history? Will the visiting systems analyst (Martin Sheen) convince him not to? Will a rescued senator from 1941 (Charles Durning) play an unexpected role... More Info about this DVD

    Black Widow DVD

Theresa Russell seduces rich men by conforming to their dreams in terms of appearance and behaviour, marries them, and then kills them. She thinks her means are undetectable. But Justice Department investigator Debra Winger has noticed a pattern, and becomes obsessed with tracking Russell down. She follows her to Hawaii (where she is working on her latest target), befriends her, and the stage is set for a psychological chess game.

The idea is promising, but the execution is uninspired. There is too much time spent on pretty pictures of Hawaii, and the narrative lacks drive, eroticism or real suspense. We are told that the two characters are obsessed, but aren't properly shown that they are, or even why they are. Finally, the resolution is particularly unconvincing.

    The Enemy Below DVD

In The Enemy Below Robert Mitchum and Curt Jurgens are respectively captains of a U.S. destroyer and a German U-boat whose vessels come into conflict in the South Atlantic. Both are good men with a job to do, the script noting Jurgens' distaste for Hitler and the Nazis and engaging our sympathy with the German sailors almost as much as the Americans. Made at the height of the cold war of the 1950s, the film delivers a liberal message of co-operation wrapped inside some spectacular action scenes and a story which builds to a tense and exciting, moving finale. --Gary S. Excessive Force DVD

Action superstar Thomas Ian Griffith takes on evil Italians and corrupt cops in this edge-of-your seat thriller. In perhaps his best role of all time, Griffith crafts a fascinating character unlike any ever seen before: a cop frustrated with his work and alienated from his wife. When Griffith uses excessive force to get a confession, a web of intruige and sinister alliances is slowly revealed to him. The film also features a supporting cast of seasoned veterans such as James Earl Jones and Lance Henriksen who both deliver solid performances. With plot twists you will never see coming, touching moments which will leave you in tears and the one of best guitar-solo and saxophone soundtracks ever written - not to mention explosive, glass-breaking karate action, "Excessive Force" is a 90...
